(Minghui.org) “When we encounter injustice, we have no choice but to publicize it,” said Carlos Calderon at Falun Gong practitioners’ events in the center of Vancouver on July 12, 2026. He stopped to watch the practitioners’ march that exposed the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong that has gone on for 27 years. The procession attracted the attention of many passersby.
Impressed by the sight of so many people doing the exercises together in front of the Vancouver Art Gallery, many people took pictures and videos and talked with practitioners. Many who read the banners and posters signed the petition calling to end the suppression that began in July 1999. “This evil cannot be allowed to remain a secret,” Carlos Calderon said.

Exposing the Harsh Persecution
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a meditation system based the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Although the practice has benefited people in over 100 countries and regions, the CCP has been suppressing it for 27 years by generating hate propaganda; detaining, torturing, and incarcerating practitioners; and sanctioning forced organ harvesting.
After the group exercises at noon, the Tian Guo Marching Band, followed by banners and practitioners demonstrating the exercises, marched through the city streets. Their banners read: “Stop the Persecution of Falun Gong in China,” “China: Stop Murdering for Organs,” “Stop CCP Transnational Repression of Falun Gong,” and “Falun Dafa Is Great.”

People learned about Falun Gong and signed a petition to stop the persecution.
“United We Stand, Divided We Fall”

Carlos Calderon, who lives in Mexico City, had arrived in Vancouver several days before. He said he had heard about the CCP’s terrible treatment of Tibetans, but he did not know that the regime brutally persecutes Falun Gong.
“We should all have freedom of belief,” he said and added that the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are great and no government should suppress them.
“When we encounter injustice, we have no choice but to publicize it. The evil cannot be allowed to remain a secret,” he said.
Liliana Valdez was also shocked to hear about the CCP’s forced organ harvesting. She said her daughter had heard there was short wait time for an organ transplant in China “but we didn’t know it’s because of forced organ harvesting. This is astonishing.”
She commended the practitioners for their efforts to raise awareness of what is going on in China. “Many people nowadays just care about their own lives. I believe that, after hearing about what is going on, they will do something. ‘United we stand, divided we fall,’” she said. She also said she would share the information on Facebook.
Falun Gong Benefits Humanity
Christina from Vancouver said it was hard to imagine a person could be killed for their organs and that it was happening on such a large scale: “This is horrible, absolutely not allowed. We must expose this evil.”
She also thanked the practitioners for their efforts. She said she thought Falun Gong’s guiding principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance were great and very important for the world today.
Mr. Wen from Taiwan
Mr. Wen, who had read about the CCP’s forced organ harvesting, said “That totalitarian regime is ruthless.” He believes Falun Gong’s values are universal and thus benefit everyone.
Connie from the US adopted a Chinese girl 20 years ago, so she was very interested in the event. Surprised to hear about the forced organ harvesting, she said, “This is frightening! You are doing a great thing [letting people know about it] since it must be stopped,” she added.
Persevering for 27 Years
Sydney and Katie from British Columbia signed the petitions to support practitioners’ efforts. Sydney, who’d never heard about forced organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners before, said that it was a “tragedy.”
Both Sydney and Katie thought practicing Falun Dafa would be beneficial. “I like something like this. It is really awesome!” said Katie.
Ms. Wang from China said that, every time she travels, she looks for practitioners at tourist sites and reads their materials, because she cannot find this information in China.
“I still live in China, so I cannot talk about things directly,” she explained. “But what you have been doing means a lot and I’m very touched. It’s amazing that you’ve persevered for 27 years.”
