(Minghui.org) On Saturday July 18, 2026, Falun Gong practitioners held a grand march and rally in the center of London, kicking off two days of activities to mark the 27th anniversary of the persecution. Practitioners called on people to help end the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) 27-year brutal suppression of Falun Gong. They also condemned the Chinese regime’s extension of the persecution outside of China.

The Public Learns About the Persecution
The march, which was led by the Tian Guo Marching Band, began at 12 p.m. near the Chinese Embassy and passed through Central London. A large group of practitioners demonstrated the exercises, while others carried photos of practitioners who died due to the persecution. A section of the parade, dedicated to “Quitting the CCP,” called on people to learn about the persecution, see the true nature of the CCP, and help end the egregious human rights violations.
It was sunny and breezy in London on Saturday. The march passed through Regent St., Oxford St., Piccadilly Square, Chinatown, and near Downing St. and ended at the Old Palace Yard. Many people, including tourists from all over the world, stopped to watch. Many took photos and video recordings, and many accepted the informational materials handed out by practitioners.
For 27 years, Falun Gong practitioners continue to peacefully call for an end to the atrocities perpetrated on them by the Chinese communist regime. After the parade, they held a press conference and rally at Old Palace Yard, and continued to expose the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong and to call on international society to help stop the human rights abuses.

Officials Send Letters of Support
Prior to the rally, many UK officials including members of the Upper and Lower Parliament, representatives from human rights groups, local council members, and others sent letters and joint statements to the UK Falun Dafa Association. They condemned the CCP’s long-term persecution of Falun Gong as well as the crimes of organ harvesting of prisoners of conscience, and expressed great concern over the CCP’s extension of the persecution overseas, including in the UK.
In their messages, officials clearly expressed their support for Falun Gong and emphasized that they cannot allow foreign forces to coerce and suppress peaceful groups in the UK.

Member of Parliament Seamus Logan wrote in his letter: “As an MP, I commend those gathering in Trafalgar Square today who support these principles, who peacefully highlight the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners and who express concerns over their transnational repression. No one should face discrimination, intimidation or persecution because of their faith, sexuality or beliefs, and I urge the UK Government to continue to press for accountability, justice, human rights and the protection of these fundamental freedoms.”

Caroline from the UK Falun Dafa Association pointed out that millions of peaceful citizens in China are illegally detained and tortured for their belief, and some are victims of the CCP’s live organ harvesting industry. She stated, “This is a crime against humanity through and through, yet it continues today!”
Regarding the CCP’s increasingly rampant transnational repression–including vilification, death threats, and even bomb threats aimed at peaceful people in England, she highly commended the US Congress for supporting the Falun Gong Protection Act. Caroline said, “The UK government should adopt similar legislation at once!”
She made an appeal to all: “We hope people all over the world can join us, seek peace together, and thoroughly end the persecution of Falun Gong. We hope people can see the good and the pure kindness of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and understand these are the most noble values in humanity. It is a belief we should all stand up and defend.”

In his speech, John Dee, President of the European Friends of Falun Gong, looked back at the history of the persecution which began on July 20, 1999. He pointed out that this suppression is “one of the longest and most severe persecutions ever carried out by any government against its own people in the history of the world.”
Mr. Dee highly commended Falun Gong practitioners for never backing down and for their extraordinary courage: “The CCP will succumb to the huge power of, ‘good will prevail over evil.’ It’s just a matter of time.”
People Support Falun Gong
After the press conference, practitioners continued to inform people of the persecution at five sites in the center of London – Old Palace Yard, Parliament Square, Trafalgar Square, Chinatown, and the British Museum. They also collected signatures on a petition calling for an end to the persecution.
Many people stopped to listen or talk with practitioners. Some took photos and video recordings and accepted flyers handed out by practitioners. They learned about the persecution and expressed their support.

Jamie, who works in IT, said, “I support the Falun Gong, and I think the CCP is absolutely out of order. I appreciate the teachings of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance, and I think that every one should learn from this.”
Karen, a retired professional from Leeds, said she was shocked after she was told about the persecution. She said she hadn’t seen any reports in the media and stressed that practitioners need to let more people know about this.
She said firmly, “It’s just a dreadful, dreadful thing that’s going on and it’s just wrong. People need to stand up to this kind of thing.”
Karen said she strongly agrees with the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance: “In a world where you could be anything, be kind. And if you choose kindness, then you can’t go wrong. This is my mantra. I choose kindness in everything I do. If more people were kind, then we’d live in a better world.”

Many young people stopped to watch the parade and rally. Students Nandu and Alex signed the petition to call for an end to the persecution.
Nandu strongly condemned the CCP’s brutalities and said that organ harvesting “is very bad and very inhumane.” He added, “People should be free to express themselves and follow what they want. They [the CCP] shouldn’t be harvesting organs without their permission.” He highly agrees with Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance: “They are the three things you need in life.”
Alex agreed with Nandu and said, “Kindness should be everywhere.” The two young men said they will try their best to help more people know about the persecution.
The two days of activities to draw attention to the anniversary of the persecution continued on Sunday, July 19, when practitioners were to hold another grand parade and more activities in London to inform people of the atrocities taking place in China.
