(Minghui.org) Over two thousand practitioners from across the US gathered in Washington DC to raise awareness of the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong. They held a grand march after their rally in front of the Lincoln Memorial on July 23, 2026, to expose the 27-year long persecution.
It was a sunny and breezy day, and the streets were filled with people. The march started from Henry Bacon Drive in front of the Lincoln Memorial, proceeded east along Constitution Avenue to the German-American Friendship Garden, and passed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Constitution Gardens.
The march was led by the Tian Guo Marching Band and was divided into three sections. The first was themed “Falun Dafa Is Good,” and practitioners carried a banner: “Falun Dafa Is Good” followed by banners reading “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” in various languages.
The second section was themed “End the Persecution of Falun Gong,” and featured nearly a hundred practitioners dressed in white, solemnly holding portraits of their fellow practitioners in China who have died as a result of persecution.
The third section’s theme was “Dissolve the CCP (Chinese Communist Party).” The messages supported the 464 million Chinese people who have withdrawn from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, and called for a coordinated effort to end the persecution.

Practitioners marched along Constitution Avenue carrying giant banners, which caught the bystanders’ attention. The messages included: “The World Needs Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance,” “The Ultimate Goal of Communism is to Destroy Humanity,” “Dissolve the CCP and End the Persecution,” and “Thank You U.S. House of Representatives for Passing the Falun Gong Protection Act.”

Many spectators stopped to watch and take photos of the march. Some who had heard about the brutal persecution for the first time did a quick search on the Internet for information about the persecution. Those who knew about the persecution expressed their support and thanked practitioners for their efforts to expose the persecution. Many said they hoped for a quick end to the persecution.
Parade Organizer: The Force of Justice Continues to Grow
One of the parade organizers, Ms. Ge Min, said that the 27-year persecution is still widespread in China. “Recently, the mother of Alisa, a practitioner from Washington DC, and more than a dozen other practitioners in Wuhan were arrested for not renouncing their faith. We continue to call for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong.
“The force of justice has been growing in recent years, and the US Congress has been taking action,” she said, “The House of Representatives passed the Falun Gong Protection Act. A bill opposing forced organ harvesting has also been passed by the Senate Committee of Foreign Affairs. In addition, the Senate recently introduced S. 4009, the Falun Gong and Victims of Forced Organ Harvesting Act. All of which shows that voices from political and civil groups demanding that the CCP end the persecution and forced organ harvesting are growing stronger.”
Financial Analyst: Persecution Is Unacceptable and the US Should Step In

Darin Thomas, a financial analyst from Chicago, and his family were visiting DC. Darin said that he’d heard about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong before. The parade gave him a better understanding of the brutality that’s taking place. He thanked practitioners for using peaceful means to let more people know about the atrocities in China, “The event today was very peaceful, and I am grateful for that. Thanks to the Falun Gong practitioners. I fully support their right to freedom.”
Darin believes the principles taught by Falun Gong are important, “I think the world should build on these values. Everyone should abide by these basic principles.” He said that the banners in the parade delivered similar messages, “They promote kindness towards others. They also remind us not to become overly obsessed with material possessions.”
He said the 27-year-long persecution was horrible and thinks the US government should help end it. “When the US government talks to China, it should bring up this issue and make it clear that the persecution is unacceptable. The US government should continue to pressure Beijing to protect freedom and human rights, which are part of the founding principles of the United States.”
Teacher from Israel: Mankind Should Follow the Principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance

When the parade entered Constitution Avenue, Jannie Goldenberg, a teacher from Israel, and her husband and children took photos and videos.
Jannie said she learned about the CCP’s persecution of Falun Gong from the news in Israel. As a Jew, she said the persecution was another Holocaust. She was impressed by the practitioners’ march that exposed the persecution, “This is a group of people trying hard to convey an important message; they are worthy of our support.” She said that that the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are values people should follow.
Engineer: Americans Should Be Aware of the Persecution

Engineer Brian Johnson and his son came from Kansas City. After watching the parade, Brian said it was the first time he’s heard about the persecution. He said the parade “lets more people know about the persecution and understand that Falun Gong is a peaceful group.” He believes that the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance should be followed by not only practitioners, but by everyone.
Regarding the persecution, Brian said, “It is absolutely unacceptable that the CCP targets Falun Gong, persecutes practitioners, and even sanctioned systematic live organ harvesting from practitioners just because Falun Gong is popular.” He believes that non-practitioners are also victims of this persecution. He hoped that, with the increasing development of social media, the CCP can no longer control information.
Even though the persecution is happening in China, Brian believes that the American people should be aware of it because “persecution can happen anywhere. We need to raise awareness about this issue and encourage more countries to help end it.”
Project Manager: Persecution Concerns Everyone
Jack White from Richmond, Virginia (Minghui.org)
Jack White, a project manager from Richmond, Virginia, enjoyed watching the parade. He said, “I didn’t know about the persecution. Now I want to know more about it.” He regretted not having heard about it before and said, “I am sorry that it didn’t receive more media attention, and a lot of information is not made public. Now I know about the persecution and find it horrible.”
He believes that it is important that people pay attention to it because “it concerns the world and how people treat each other. It affects everything.”
