(Minghui.org) As people throughout the United States celebrated the country’s 250th anniversary on July 4, 2026, a wide array of festivities, historical and cultural exhibitions, and community events were held in Ohio to commemorate this momentous occasion.
The annual Independence Day celebration in Ohio’s capital city, Columbus, attracted numerous community groups, and the Falun Dafa Association was once again invited to participate in the parade. The parade proceeded along Main Street, and featured numerous community groups, cultural organizations, marching bands, and floats that showcased America’s cultural diversity and community vitality through a vibrant array of displays.
Falun Dafa practitioners from Ohio and other Midwestern states joined this year’s parade with four sections: Falun Dafa banners, Chinese traditional waist drum team, flag team, and a float with heavenly maidens and an exercise demonstration. The contingents were neatly arrayed and vividly colored. Accompanied by melodious and peaceful music, the practitioners were in high spirits, extending their holiday greetings to the spectators lining the route, who waved enthusiastically.

When the practitioners passed the reviewing stand, the emcee introduced them, and said, “Falun Dafa is an ancient cultivation practice for the mind and body. It includes five slow and gentle exercises that include meditation. Based on the universal principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance, practicing Falun Dafa helps relieve stress, and improves physical and mental health. As the emcee introduced the group, many people clapped to welcome the practitioners, and some raised their mobile phones to take photos and videos as they waved to practitioners.
Falun Dafa practitioners in Ohio have actively participated in a variety of community cultural events, including the Independence Day Parade, Asian Cultural Festival, etc. With their exercise demonstrations, traditional Chinese cultural performances, and their friendliness, practitioners have been well received by event organizers and residents.
The practitioners celebrate this important American holiday, the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, with all sectors of American society, and at the same time share the wonderful values of Falun Dafa’s Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance with more people, bringing more harmony and hope to the community.
