Nagaland is one of India’s most unique states, consisting of indigenous warrior tribes that have lived in the mountainous region between northern India and Myanmar for centuries. There are 17 major tribes and many more sub-tribes, each with their own distinct dialects, customs, attire, and festivals. The Naga peoples are known for their grace, generosity, and hospitality to visitors.
Falun Dafa Tutorial Sessions Bring “Peaceful Atmosphere” to 14 Institutions
The Falun Dafa practitioner held introductory sessions at 14 institutions in Nagaland, including 10 schools, an orphanage, a children’s home, a homeless shelter, and a day care center.
The students, teachers, and other participants said that they could feel a deep sense of peace and inner happiness after they did the exercises.
The teachers and principals said they appreciated the practitioner for instilling positive moral values in their students. Several principals sent letters of appreciation to the practitioner after their introductory sessions.
“During the program, she shared the values of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance and demonstrated simple meditation exercises that promoted peace, discipline and well-being among the students,” wrote one principal. “The session was highly informative and appreciated by both students and staff. The students and staff greatly appreciated the practical exercises and the inspiring message shared during the session. The program created a calm and positive atmosphere in the school and encouraged the students to focus on self-discipline, respect, and emotional well-being.”
At another school, where 200 secondary school students attended the session, the principal described the session as an “unforgettable experience.” “Falun Dafa [is] a meditation practice meant to enhance inner joy, physical and mental fitness thereby promoting peace and serenity through the universal and proclaimed values of truthfulness, compassion and forbearance,” wrote the second principal. “The program and experiences were well appreciated by all the staff and students who attended the program.”
A third principal was impressed by how engaged the students were during the Falun Dafa session. “With great zeal and active participation, the students were enlightened during the session. The calm and engaging approach made the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance accessible and meaningful.
“It has made the students more energetic after this practice, both mentally and physically. We appreciate the peaceful atmosphere you created, allowing us to reflect deeply on these values,” wrote the principal. “In today’s era of continuous technological advancement, this practice is of immense importance for mental peace and physical wellbeing. One key takeaway for us is to apply these principles in everyday life promoting personal growth and harmony.”
This attitude of personal growth was echoed by a fourth principal, who attributes the session to improving the overall atmosphere on campus. “Through [Falun Dafa], we have not only learned the exercises and meditation practices but have also gained a deeper understanding of the values of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance,” said the principal. “[These sessions] have contributed greatly to creating a calm, healthy, and positive environment in our school.”
A fifth principal said that the session “brought the guiding principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance to life in a way that deeply touched the children.” This principal also added that the exercises created “a safe space where many felt valued and encouraged.”
Community Leaders at Mokokchung Festival Interested in Falun Dafa MaterialsMokokchung is the cultural and intellectual hub of Nagaland, and the historical headquarters of the Ao Naga tribe.
At the beginning of May, a festival celebrating 25 years of friendship between two villages was held in the Ungma village near Mokokchung. Three community leaders who attended were happy to accept Falun Dafa materials from the practitioner and learn more about the practice and its benefits for the mind, body, and interpersonal relationships.
Locals Moved by Falun Dafa Practitioners’ Resilience
Nagaland is one of the most Christian states in India, and approximately 85 to 90% of the population identify as Christian. Many residents said they were touched by the experiences of Falun Dafa practitioners in China, who continue to practice their faith despite the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution since 1999. They also said they could relate, given the CCP’s similar abuse of Christians in China.
A Catholic priest who is also in charge of a school, said he would talk about Falun Dafa and the persecution during his Sunday sermons in church. Another woman who also worked in school administration, asked for more flyers and said she would distribute them to people in her church groups and tell them about the persecution.
The president of a Bar Association, said he would tell other lawyers about Falun Dafa. A retired Chief Medical Officer who works in a clinic, said that he will share the materials with not only with his colleagues and nurses, but also with his patients.
