(Minghui.org) Practitioners gathered along the waterfront opposite the Chinese Consulate in Istanbul on the evening of July 18, 2026. Many people stopped and read their banners in Turkish, English, and Chinese that exposed the persecution. They also held a candlelight vigil in memory of Falun Gong practitioners who have lost their lives due to violence in the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution and state-sanctioned forced organ harvesting.

Many passers-by stopped to talk with practitioners, condemned the persecution, and signed the petition calling for an end to the human rights abuses. People expressed their support and encouraged practitioners.

Some people read the materials distributed by practitioners and asked questions to gain a better understanding of the issue.

After hearing a practitioner’s explanation, a young girl said she was deeply saddened by what had happened. She brought her friends and encouraged them to sign the petition.

A Russian couple who have lived in Turkey for a long time said this was the first time they heard about the persecution and they were very saddened by it. They signed the petition and took a brochure so they could show it to their friends and family.

While a person collecting recyclable materials stopped to watch practitioners, one of them explained the issue to her. When she signed the petition, she drew a big heart on it to express sympathy to the practitioners.

Another Rally Near the Chinese Consulate

Practitioners held another rally in the same location on the morning of Monday, July 20. Passing vehicles showed their support by honking their horns and waving at the practitioners. A man was out jogging and stopped. A practitioner explained the issue to him, and the man immediately signed the petition.

Despite the hot weather, practitioners did the exercises, handed out flyers and told people about the persecution.

One person who received a brochure told a practitioner, “What you’re doing is very valuable! But please wear a hat. It is very hot, and you could get sunstroke.” The practitioner smiled and thanked her for her concern.
