Husband Recovered From Eye Injury

My husband is a carpenter working at a construction site. Once, while he was driving, a nail ricocheted and struck him right in the eye, causing immediate bleeding at the back of the eye. Within a short time, half of his face swelled up. He couldn’t open his eye, and he was unable to continue working.

When the foreman found out, he offered my husband 300 yuan to go to the hospital, but my husband adamantly refused to take it because I had often told him not to accept things that didn’t belong to him, but to recite “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” whenever facing danger or difficulty. The foreman then drove him home on an electric bike.

On the way home, my husband kept reciting, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” When he arrived, I didn’t notice anything unusual. His face looked normal, though there was a bit of redness in his eye. Since his eyes often turned red whenever he got overheated or stressed, I didn’t think much of it.

My husband went back to work the next day. It wasn’t until two or three days later that he told me he had come home early that day because a nail had pierced his eye, so he had recited “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” on the way back, and by the time he got home, he was fine. He hadn’t taken the foreman’s money and hadn’t missed any work. Since then, he has never again suffered from the problem of his eyes turning red due to stress or heat.

Stepdaughter Recovered From a Congenital Development Disorder

My stepdaughter suffered from a congenital development disorder. Her mother, aunt, and grandmother all had mental health issues. She would laugh or cry for no apparent reason and wouldn’t come home after school, forcing me to go out and look for her. She wouldn’t listen to family members and was uncontrollable. Whenever she wasn’t being watched, she would run off. I treated her like my own daughter. When she didn’t know what to do about something, she would ask me rather than her father. She knew I had her best interests in mind and was willing to listen to me.

In 2010, I was illegally sentenced to one year of forced labor. When my stepdaughter found out, she insisted on visiting me. She was 21 years old. The rest of the family didn’t want her to visit and tried to stop her. She went to the village office to get the necessary referral letter and traveled to the labor camp by herself.

When we met, I saw that her hair and eyelids were dyed green. She asked me if it looked good. Knowing she had mental health issues, I simply replied, “As long as you like it, that’s what matters.” She bought me food, daily necessities, clothing, and even topped off my account. I said, “I didn’t do well as a mother and can’t take care of you at the moment. You have to look after yourself.”

My stepdaughter replied, “Mom, you didn’t do anything wrong. Call me when the money runs out, and I’ll bring you more.” She visited me twice.

After I returned home from the labor camp, I noticed that my stepdaughter’s mental instability had gradually improved to the point that she had become rational in her speech and actions. Later, she married a man nine years older than her. They had a son and a daughter and lived a happy life.

I told my husband, “She did a great act of kindness by visiting me twice while I was being persecuted, so she received great blessings. Dafa is omnipotent, and the Buddha Law is boundless.” He nodded in full agreement.
