(Minghui.org) I started Falun Dafa cultivation practice in 1997. I would like to share two accounts of people receiving blessings after understanding the truth about Falun Dafa. Although they initially had misconceptions about Dafa, their willingness to hear the truth was the key to their change of heart.
A Reluctant Mall Manager
In 2000, I rented a kiosk at a mall to start a business. One day, the mall manager came by and said angrily, “Come to my office.” I was puzzled. When I got to his office, he sat in his chair but didn’t offer me a seat. As I stood awkwardly in front of his desk, he said in a gruff tone, “I’m going to report you!”
I wasn’t afraid. I smiled and asked, “Sir, what are you reporting me for?” Seeing his face turn red, I said, “Please don’t be angry. I just want to know why you’re reporting me.”
His expression softened a little, “I just heard that you practice Falun Dafa, and you sometimes talked about it with others in the mall. I’m running a big place here. How can I have an employee who practices Falun Dafa? Aren’t you jeopardizing my job? Do you think I’m crazy?”
I gently responded, “Sir, do you know anything about Falun Dafa?” He replied, “I don’t know the specifics, I’ve only heard about it on TV. Our management also talks about it in meetings; our higher-ups won’t allow it.”
I continued, “Since you don’t know what Falun Dafa is really about, let me take a little of your precious time to explain.” He pulled up a chair and offered me a seat. I thanked him and started out, “Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong, is a Buddha school cultivation practice introduced by Master Li Hongzhi in May 1992.
“The practice is guided by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and includes five sets of gentle exercises. It teaches people how to cultivate their minds, improve their health, elevate their moral standards, and return to their original, true selves.
“What’s said on television is completely false; it amounts to slander and lies against Falun Dafa. Many practitioners have improved their physical fitness, moral standards, and even increased their efficiency at work. I’m one of those people who’s benefited from the practice. Moreover, Falun Dafa practitioners cultivate selflessness and consider others first. You can see that, even with the government’s suppression, practitioners have never retaliated; we are always kind and rational.”
The manager remained silent and didn’t say anything more about reporting me. After a while, he said thoughtfully, “No wonder you’re so kind to people. Many employees in the mall have said good things about you! Since Falun Dafa is such a good practice, you can practice at home. Don’t talk about with others here, to avoid misunderstandings. You can go back to work now!” I said, “Thank you, sir! Your understanding makes me feel at ease.”
I knew that Master protected me. I was grateful my tribulation was dissolved and the manager was able to begin to understand the truth about Dafa. Since then, he’s treated me well and has been willing to hire other Falun Dafa practitioners.
A year later, he was promoted to a general manager position and handles malls in the entire area. I believe he received blessings for coming to understand the truth and treating Dafa practitioners kindly!
Her Wish Comes True
In 2006, I worked at a supermarket and got to know a salesperson over time. We became like sisters and often got together. She told me that her dream was to run her own business so she would never have to work for others again.
While we were once chatting about everyday things, she threw her shoulder bag onto the sofa and hurried to the restroom. The zipper on her bag was open and a small notebook fell out onto the floor. The notebook was open, so I picked it up and put it on the sofa. Inadvertently, I saw a line of text. It was quite eye-catching: “Falun Dafa is so scary!” I thought, “What does this mean? There’s no coincidence I’m seeing this. Master must have arranged for this woman to hear the truth.”
After she came back, I pointed at the notebook and said, “My friend, you forgot to zip up your bag, and the notebook fell out. I picked it up and accidentally saw what you had written. I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to pry.” She said, “We’re friends. No worry. I’m just a careless person.”
“Why did you write that you were scared of Falun Dafa? I wanted to tell you more about it.” She replied, “I don’t want to hear it. I’m really scared!” At that moment, her expression became tense, and she looked terrified.
I smiled, “Do you find me scary?” She said no. “That’s right,” I said, “practitioners are all good people, the best people. Falun Dafa is a high-level Buddha school cultivation practice. It requires its practitioners to follow the principles of the universe—Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Those who truly practice Dafa are selfless in society, at work, and at home.
“The practice has miraculous healing effects and improves physical fitness. Many people with incurable and difficult-to-treat diseases have regained their health without medical intervention. They have become healthy and energetic, and their moral character also improved. Before the Chinese Communist Party [CCP] banned the practice and started the persecution, nearly 100 million people practiced Falun Dafa nationwide. This included people of all ages and occupations, different social classes, and various ethnicities.
“Those who truly cultivate Falun Dafa strictly require themselves to follow the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. They do not harm others in any way and have nothing to do with gambling, prostitution, violence, or theft. They are entirely beneficial to society.
“It was Jiang Zemin who, out of jealousy, thought that the large number of people practicing Dafa threatened his regime and somehow vied with the Communist Party for control of the masses. When he ordered the persecution, the CCP fabricated the self-immolation incident on Tiananmen Square to incite hatred of Falun Dafa among the Chinese people.
“A lot of people knew about the goodness of the practice, but they dared not practice it anymore. Meanwhile, Dafa has spread to dozens of countries abroad, and our books have been translated into more than 20 languages.”
She listened with great interest, “Wow! This practice is really great!” I then told her about the “hidden character stone” in Guizhou Province and about quitting the CCP for a safe future: “Since assuming power, the CCP has persecuted over 80 million people to death through its various political movements. In the persecution of Falun Dafa, many practitioners were sent to prisons and forced labor camps; others have been tortured to death. They even harvest organs from living practitioners for profit.
“The evil regime doesn’t treat people like human beings and heaven will ultimately eliminate it. When a person joined the Party, the Communist Youth League, or the Young Pioneers, they made an oath to fight for communism with their lives. One must quit the CCP and its organizations from his heart, and he will then be safe from future calamities.”
My friend thanked me, “Jiang Zemin and the Communist Party are too cruel. I want to quit the Youth League and Young Pioneers using my real name. I said, “You don’t need to thank me, you should thank Master! It was Master Li Hongzhi who told us to help save people by telling them the truth about Dafa.”
I also asked her to tell her family and friends about the practice and to encourage them to quit the CCP and its affiliated youth organizations.
She then asked, “So the stories on TV about Falun Dafa practitioners cutting open their abdomens to find a Falun (law wheel) or beating their parents to death are all fake?”
I told her, “Our main book of teachings, Zhuan Falun, taught us ‛For practitioners, we have set the strict requirement that they cannot kill lives.’ (Lecture Seven, Zhuan Falun) Practitioners are absolutely forbidden from killing or committing suicide. The Communist Party fabricated these stories to slander Falun Dafa and to make excuses for their persecution. So are you still afraid?”
She sighed, “I understand everything now, and I’m not scared anymore. This practice is miraculous! I will always remember that Falun Dafa is good!”
My friend later married, and she and her husband started a chicken farm. They’ve kept the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in mind and work hard. And with this work ethic, their business has flourished. They also raised two bright children, and their family prospered. She truly had her wish come true. They received great blessings for understanding the truth.
