(Minghui.org) A woman in Shahe City, Hebei Province, remains detained for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body practice that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since July 1999.
Ms. Xie Dehua, around 50, was home at 11:30 p.m. on August 23, 2026, when she received a phone call from someone claiming to be a car owner whose vehicle clipped her car, which was parked outside her apartment building.
The caller asked to visit her and discuss how much to compensate her for the damage. Ms. Xie, an employee of a real estate company in Xingtai City (which oversees Shahe City), was deceived by the ruse and opened the door, only to have several plainclothes officers barge in. Without showing any ID or search warrant, they raided her home and confiscated a carload of valuables. They also beat her so hard that she sustained severe injuries to her head and arms. Ms. Xie still has not healed from her wounds to this day.
Ms. Xie’s neighbor heard the commotion and condemned the police for arresting law-abiding citizens. He demanded to know the police’s phone numbers. Captain Xi from the Xingtai City Police Department revealed his identity and said his number was +86-13373199919. He also said other arresting officers were from the Xingtai Economic Development Area Police Department and the Shahe City Police Department.
Ms. Xie was taken to the Xingtai City Detention Center, where she remains. The arresting officers have interrogated her four times at the detention center as of September 4, 2026.
