(Minghui.org) Zang Qinli and his wife Wang Cuihua happily lived with their family in Dongxiandu Village in Wangcheng Township, Shandong Province.
The couple had seven children: four boys and three girls. After he retired from the air force, the oldest son worked in Qingdao City and was promoted to a leadership role. The second son had his own business and was very wealthy, and the third son was a manager for a construction company and enjoyed a comfortable life. The youngest son was the principal of a renowned school in the region and he was very influential. The oldest daughter was a deputy manager at a municipal company. The third daughter married the village’s Chinese Communist Party (CCP) Party secretary.
Because she was obese and had a chronic lung disease, the villagers called Wang a “walking medicine cabinet.” After she began practicing Falun Dafa, her health and outlook on life changed dramatically. She no longer needed medicine and she lost weight. The villagers were impressed because she was like a different person.
Thankful for the benefits she enjoyed after she began practicing Falun Dafa, Wang told others about the miracles she experienced and many people began to practice. More than 20 villagers routinely did the group exercises at the village committee office.
A Terrifying Nightmare Begins
After the CCP launched the persecution in July 1999, Wang went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. When she came home, the local 610 Office agents sent her to a mental hospital.
Because her family was well-known in the area and Wang was influential, the local Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC) and the 610 Office pressured Wang to give up Falun Dafa. They resorted to despicable tactics, such as suspending her sons from their posts and sending them home to transform their mother—they were threatened and told they could not return to work until Wang renounced Falun Dafa.
Facing the CCP’s harsh brutality and repeated lies, Wang’s sons ignored the fact that their mother became healthy after she practiced Falun Dafa. They took turns monitoring her 24 hours a day, and pressured her to act against her conscience and renounce her faith.
Because she was constantly watched, Wang was unable to study the Fa teachings or do the exercises. Under the intense pressure from her family and misled by the incentive of material gain, she forgot how Falun Dafa helped her and she stopped practicing.
She began going along with the persecution. Wang coordinated with the village Party secretary Zang Xingli (who was later diagnosed with cancer and died) and other officers. Wang called practitioners to the village committee office and pressured them to turn in their Dafa books and sign documents to renounce Falun Dafa. Influenced by her, some practitioners stopped practicing.
She also monitored practitioners’ daily activities and reported them to the police. Shortly after she reported on a male practitioner, he was detained and died in police custody.
Tragedy Befalls the Family
Wang’s health was good while she practiced Falun Dafa, but that fall she became very ill. Her body was covered in festering sores that oozed yellow fluid. Her feet and eyes became so swollen that she could not walk, and she could not open her eyes. It was said that when she was dying, she realized these were the consequences because she helped the CCP persecute practitioners. She wanted to resume practicing but it was too late. She died one year later.
This was just the beginning of her family’s misery. The summer after Wang died, the only son of her youngest son (the school principal) fell in into a reservoir and drowned. He was 14. Soon after he died her second son’s oldest daughter developed a mental illness, jumped from the fifth floor of the hospital and died. Several years later, Wang’s second son had a heart attack while he worked in the fields and died. Her oldest son was a farmer and suffered a huge loss. Her oldest daughter became ill and died, and her third daughter was divorced by the village Party secretary. This once large, prosperous, and wealthy family thus fell into ruin.
Falun Dafa, a meditation system based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, brought huge benefits to Wang’s family. But the CCP which advocates hatred and brutality, could not tolerate the Falun Dafa’s universal values. Those who work for the regime spread lies to mislead people and persecuted practitioners for their faith.
But honesty and integrity is an inherent component of humanity. By knowingly following the CCP, defaming Falun Dafa, and persecuting practitioners, Wang and her family chose their path. The CCP is responsible for their tragic fate, and what happened to them is also a lesson for those who abandon their conscience.
