(Minghui.org) Practitioners participated in the Blossom Festival at Hastings, Hawke’s Bay, on September 19, 2026. Their group included the Tian Guo Marching Band, a dragon dance team, and a float.
The festival is held every September to welcome the arrival of spring in the Southern Hemisphere and features agricultural products, community culture, and local traditions. Falun Dafa practitioners were awarded first place for Best Performance.

Peter said he’s seen practitioners at the festival every year, and he likes the traditional culture that they display; these events help people learn about different cultures.
When he learned Falun Dafa’s guiding principles are Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, he said these values can benefit everyone: “If you have values, you know where you are.”
He liked the Tian Guo Marching Band’s music and their costumes, and he encouraged practitioners to persist in telling people about Falun Dafa. He said their efforts can help people choose a healthy lifestyle and positively impact the next generation.
Everyone Needs These Values

Bianca Pienaar said she brings her daughter to watch the parade every year and is always impressed by the performers.
She praised the Tian Guo Marching Band and said, “The music is spectacular. I like it very much.” She said the music makes her feel calm and she looks forward to seeing the band every year.
She accepted a flyer about Falun Dafa and said Dafa’s principles are great values and that everyone needs them.
She also noted that through their music and performances, the practitioners conveyed not only art but also positive messages for the community. She said these values and messages are “truly wonderful.”

Derek Rossiter said he likes the practitioners’ traditional attire and music. He noted that the costumes shimmered beautifully in the sunlight; he was particularly fond of the combination of white and blue, and these colors evoked images of the ocean and the sky.
Derek was photographing the festival and said he took many photos of Falun Dafa practitioners because he found their performances and their costumes captivating.
Talking about the music, he said that the music evokes thoughts of spring and is full of vitality and emotion. “A lot of energy and emotions,” he said that the music was fantastic.
Derek agreed with Falun Dafa’s values and said they were great.

Cindy and her granddaughter watched the dragon dance and the band’s performance. After learning that practitioners tell people about Falun Dafa’s values, Cindy said, “I think they are good and benefit children.”
She said most children got their information from the Internet, so they need to learn the values of sincerity, kindness, and tolerance.
She said, “They can learn from what we do. If we show kindness and compassion, they will learn to do the same.”
