(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners staged a rally on September 19, 2026, to raise awareness about the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of their practice, including the CCP’s transnational repression in Canada. As the repression has extended overseas, the CCP has set up secret police stations in Canada, interfered with Dafa practitioners’ activities, threatened practitioners’ relatives in China, and coerced Canadian theaters into canceling Shen Yun performances through such underhanded means as bomb threats.
Practitioners also held a parade at 1:00 p.m., which passed through Wellesley Street, Yonge Street, Dundas Street, Spadina Avenue, and College Street, and eventually returned to Queen’s Park. Many people along the route stopped to watch and some took photos. Quite a few people talked with practitioners to learn more about Falun Dafa and the persecution.

“Hope of Humanity”

“This scene is relaxing and peaceful. I feel that the exercises movements have a healing effect,” said passerby Lola, from Nigeria. She was visiting her daughter in Toronto and decided to take a stroll in Queen’s Park on September 19. She stopped to watch as the practitioners did the Falun Dafa exercises and was so intrigued that she asked to be shown how to do them.

After she did the exercises, Lola said, “I feel great and relaxed. The practice connects the body with the soul.”
When she learned about Falun Dafa’s principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, Lola said, “These are principles that I’m also working on hard to achieve. I’m a Christian and I feel that the reason I came to the world is to live here for a while, make myself better, and eventually return to heaven. These principles [Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance] can elevate humanity and enable everybody to help each other.”
Andrew and Declan, who attend the University of Toronto, spoke with practitioners at the rally.

Andrew said, “The principles advocated by Falun Dafa are great and important for everyone. They are virtues worth following.
“I think if you ask anyone on the street, they would agree with you and think that the persecution is awful. But I think a lot of Canadians do not know about this persecution yet, so action must be taken to let more people know. Thank you for telling us about this,” he said.

Jesse, who works in the architectural coatings industry, followed the parade for a long time and recorded it. He said that he agreed with the messages on the banners and was well aware that the CCP is an evil regime that persecutes its own citizens. He was aware of the persecution suffered by Tibetans and Uyghurs and said he gained a better understanding of what Falun Dafa is through the parade.
“From your parade banners, I learned that you are a group who cultivates yourselves and advocates the concepts of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. This is great. I think the CCP is a violent regime that deceives people,” Jesse said.

Software engineer Kaio read the banners and said, “I was originally drawn to the parade. I then learned that this is a group about meditation and the concepts of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I think this is wonderful and there is nothing wrong [with this practice]. So I cannot understand why the CCP launched a persecution against this harmless group.”

Jacob and Daniele are PhD students from Italy. They caught the parade on their last day in Toronto.
Daniele said, “This event is very interesting and full of vitality. Everyone seems dedicated. It feels great seeing it, as a bystander.”
Jacob said, “I see that people in the parade are smiling. I can feel their passion. I hope there are more peaceful parades like this.”
Daniele added, “The banners worded ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance’ deliver a message of peace.”
Jacob said, “This parade is different from the current affairs news that we see in our daily lives. The news these days are filled with slander and conflicts. But in your banners, I see the hope of humanity.”

Hannah, a tourist from the UK, said she was drawn to the Tian Guo Marching Band at the beginning of the parade and kept on watching. She found the music performed by the band uplifting and said this was the first time she’s heard of Falun Dafa.
After she learned that Falun Dafa has five exercises and centers around the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance to elevate the mind and improve relationships with others, Hannah said, “This is great and can help people have a better life. These concepts are exactly what today’s society lacks.”
Regarding the transnational suppression that the CCP has been carrying out against Dafa practitioners, she said, “This is so scary. The CCP should not interfere with how people think.”
Chinese Student Withdraws From CCP’s Young Pioneers
A student from China who is a sophomore in college accepted a flyer and told the practitioner that after he moved overseas he realized he’d been indoctrinated with the CCP’s propaganda while he attended school in China. After he lived abroad, he realized that what the CCP teaches is false.
When the practitioner asked if he knew about withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, the student said that he joined the Young Pioneers but was no longer part of it. The practitioner explained that aging out is not a true withdrawal, and it only counts when one officially renounces one’s membership on The Epoch Times’ website and voids the oath made when one joined the Young Pioneers. The student happily agreed and withdrew with an alias.
The practitioner further explained that the CCP spreads lies about Falun Dafa, and Falun Dafa’s guiding principles—Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, which are the true essence of traditional Chinese culture. The young man agreed. The practitioner added, “We are descendants of Yan and Huang—not Marx and Lenin. Please ask your classmates to withdraw from the Communist Party, the Communist Youth League, or Young Pioneers that they joined.”
The young man smiled, “Then I will accumulate virtue as well.”
