(Minghui.org) While incarcerated in Liaoning Women’s Second Second Prison, a resident of Zhangwu County, Fuxin City, Liaoning Province, was subjected to inhumane torture methods. Under the guards’ instigation, inmates forced her head into a toilet bowl, and rubbed her face with used toilet paper covered in salt, and stuffed it into her mouth.
Sentenced to Three Years, Subjected to Inhumane Torture
Ms. Xiong Shuxiang, 68, was arrested at home on the morning of September 18, 2025, after police broke into her house. Police said CCTV caught her putting up posters containing information about Falun Gong. Her computer, Falun Gong books, and personal items were confiscated.
Her family received no news about Ms. Xiong’s whereabouts until March 2026. They learned that she has been sentenced to three years and was serving time at Liaoning Women’s Second Prison.
It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that Ms. Xiong was subjected to inhumane torture in prison.
First Arrest: Detained for 19 Days
Ms. Xiong once suffered from severe acute urethritis but recovered after practicing Falun Gong in early 1999. Grateful for regaining her health, she began telling others about Falun Gong. However, after the Chinese Communist Party launched its persecution just months later, she was arrested several times.
On December 12, 2001, while distributing Falun Gong materials in Shuangmiao Township, Zhangwu County, Ms. Xiong was reported to the police and arrested. She spent 19 days in a detention center, where a female police officer beat her after she began a hunger strike.
Ms. Xiong was released after her family paid 5,000 yuan, with the police promising to return the money in two years. However, when the time came, the police failed to return it.
Sentenced to Seven Years, Forced to Sit on Small Stool
On the morning of February 25, 2008, the police barged into Ms. Xiong’s home and arrested both her and her husband. They ransacked the house, and personal items worth 20,000 yuan were confiscated. Although her husband, who does not practice Falun Gong, was released that night, she was held at the Zhangwu County Detention Center and later sentenced to seven years.
In September 2008, authorities sent Ms. Xiong to Liaoning Women’s Second Prison.In the First Division, Ms. Xiong was forced to sit on a small stool, deprived of sleep, beaten up, and forced to do manual labor as punishment for refusing to be transformed.
To force Ms. Xiong to renounce her faith, two inmates blocked a corner of the cell, covering the window and door, and forced her to sit on a small stool for at least 18 hours a day without moving. Whenever she resisted, they extended her sitting time by two more hours. On one occasion, she was forced to remain seated for three days, without being allowed to close her eyes. The prolonged torture left her emaciated and without any appetite. She felt dizzy and walked unsteadily, feeling as if her feet were treading on a pile of cotton.
Ms. Xiong was later forced to do manual labor for 12 hours every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. If she failed to finish the work assigned to her, she would be made to sit on a small stool until 10 p.m. before being allowed to go to bed.
