[Nanjing City] After Writing to Authorities about Persecutions in Mental Hospital,
Practitioner Li Qun Herself Was Thrown into Mental Hospital
Ms. Li Qun, master degree, was a young teacher in the Institute of Communication
Engineering. She was thrown into the Nanjing Mental Hospital because she had written an
appealing letter to the government about the fact that many practitioners were detained in
mental hospitals illegally and receiving inhumane treatments. Ms. Ding Jian-hua, the first
rank police supervisor of Nanjing City, was sent to the same mental hospital earlier this
year. They are being forced to take medicines on a regular basis. The medicines can make a
normal person become mentally unstable.
[China] New Round of Crackdown to Be Implemented before April 25
According to the decisions of the Central Political Bureau and the Central Committee of
Politics and Law, before the anniversary of the "gathering of April 25", the
Chinese authorities will start a new round of cracking down on Falun Gong practitioners
starting from April 12.
In this February, the Chinese authorities had attempted to implement a harsh nationwide
crackdown on Falun Gong practitioners before the "Two Sessions" to prevent them
from appealing to the National People's Congress. However, their schemes were leaked.
Therefore, the harsh crackdown was implemented only in some areas such as Si-chuan
Province.
For the past few months, the Chinese authorities have been building new jails and forced
labor camps. Before the planed crackdown in the mid of April, the state-run newspapers,
journals, TV, and radios in China will also start a new round of propaganda campaign to
attack Falun Gong.
[Shen-zheng] Practitioner Mr. Liu Tao Tortured for Practicing Exercises in Jail
Practitioner Liu Tao is serving forced-labor "education" in Shan-shui labor
camp. Because he continued to practice Falun Gong exercises, he suffered persecutions such
as being lashed for 30 times by each convicted criminal inmate. He has been on hunger
strike for many times.
