(Clearwisdom.net) The German Human Rights Association invited Chinese students in Germany to report the persecution of their relatives in China for practicing Falun Gong. The following is summarized from a report by reporter Tianyi of RFA in Germany on April 8, 2004.
Over the past weekend, the German Human Rights Association held its annual meeting in Frankfurt. The meeting invited the Hon. Emily LAU Wai-hing, a Hong Kong Legislative Councilor, Harry Wu, a Chinese human rights activist living in the US, and some Chinese students studying in Germany who have relatives in China being persecuted for practicing Falun Gong. The reporter interviewed a student from Beijing who appealed for the release of his mother.
Chen: Hello, everyone. My name is Chen Yuan. I am studying in Germany and my major is Business Management.
Regarding his mother's situation, he said, "My mother was arrested in April 2003 for distributing truth-clarification literature in Beijing and imprisoned in Beijing's Xinan Female Forced Labor Camp. Now I cannot contact her. I don't know her current situation."
The reporter asked him further about his mother.
Chen: My mother is nearly 50 years old. Her name is Xu Youlin and she is a housewife. She developed a severe case of Lupus Sebaceus after I was born. Before she practiced Falun Gong, she took many drugs to treat the disease. After she practiced Falun Gong, she became very healthy and no drugs were needed.
Then Chen Yuan talked about his thoughts regarding attending the annual meeting.
Chen: I'd like to appeal for those Falun Gong practitioners being imprisoned in labor camps and call on the Chinese government to release them unconditionally and let them practice freely. I hope everyone can practice Falun Gong.
In this annual meeting, detailed information on China's persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in mental hospitals was listed. At the end of the meeting, a plenary resolution was made to condemn the persecution and demand that the Chinese government immediately stop the persecution of Falun Gong and other beliefs.
