(Clearwisdom.net, April 30, 2004) On April 24, 2004, Sacramento Falun Gong practitioners participated in the annual Earth Day event at the University of California in Sacramento. Since Jiang Zemin started to persecute Falun Gong in Mainland China in 1999, Sacramento Falun Gong practitioners have participated in this event every year. It was a very nice day and many people attended the event.
Falun Gong practitioners came to the event site very early. After setting up a display table and posters on the roadside, practitioners started to practice and distribute Falun Gong truth-clarifying materials. A lot of people stopped at the Falun Gong booth to watch, to take materials and to learn what this was about. Many had heard about Falun Gong and the persecution happening in Mainland China.
Two westerners had often seen practitioners practicing in a park for several years regardless of the weather. They were very touched by practitioners' peaceful perseverance. This time, they told practitioners how they felt and said that they would also learn Falun Gong. There was a stylish lady who came to sit next to a practitioner and asked the practitioner to teach her Falun Gong right away.
Next to the Falun Gong booth was a booth in which several beautiful western ladies were dancing gracefully to bright music. Their performance attracted a lot of tourists who also had the opportunity to appreciate the Dafa practitioners' peaceful exercises as the two booths were so close. Some tourists were surprised to see that practitioners could meditate so peacefully in such a noisy environment. Walking into the practice site, one seemed to enter a world of peace. When the dancing girls took a break, one of them surprisingly started to meditate as well.
Compared to past years, people were more interested in issues such as life and health. Many people who had learned about Falun Gong before showed an interest in learning more this time.
