The Falun Dafa Association of Queensland was invited to the annual celebration of international food, music and dance that drew more than 22,000 people to the Evandale Parklands. The Gold Coast City Council and Gold Coast Arts Centre buildings are nearby.

in Baoding City, Hebei Province recently gave orders to each police station to make it their priority to arrest Falun Gong practitioners. It has been reported that 24 practitioners have been arrested since September 25, 2011. Some were incarcerated in a detention center, others in a brainwashing center. Five were taken to forced labor camps.
