(Clearwisdom.net) The Shizhong District Court of Jinan City put Ms. Liu Yujing on trial on May 6, 2011. However, Ms. Liu's husband and daughter were refused entry into the court.
Ms. Liu Yujing
Ms. Liu is a farmer from Xinglong Village, Shizhong District, Jinan City, Shandong Province. She was illegally arrested at her home, and her home was ransacked on November 16, 2010. She was taken to the Shiliulihe Police Station. The police issued a criminal detention notice to her the next day and sent her to the Jinan Detention Center. On December 2, the Shizhong District Court set Ms. Liu's trial date for May 6, 2011.
Ms. Liu's husband, Mr. Tian Fengyu, got a hearing permit on the afternoon of May 5, 2011. He then went to see an attorney. Two practitioners who were going to make a plea of not guilty for Ms. Liu also came and talked to the attorney. They made an agreement on the following points:
-
According to the law, Falun Gong is not a cult. Article 300 of the criminal law cannot be applied to Falun Gong practitioners.
-
According to the law, the judge and jury members who are Chinese Communist Party members and supporters of the persecution of Falun Gong should be dismissed from the trial, as they have a conflict of interest.
The two practitioners left the attorney's office after the discussion. Soon after that, Mr. Tian received phone calls from the attorney and the court, respectively. They informed him that his right to attend the trial was revoked, as he had testified in March. Therefore, he could not attend the trial at this time. Their daughter, Ms. Tian Guangqing, was permitted attend the trial. Mr. Tian didn't think much about it as he knew nothing about the law.

However, the next day, before the court session was to start, the court personnel didn't let Ms. Tian Guangqing enter the courtroom, using the excuse that she didn't have a hearing permit. They didn't let Mr. Tian enter either, even though he had a hearing permit. Mr. Tian and his daughter had to wait outside the court until the court session ended. The daughter requested to enter the court room many times during the session and was refused.
On the day of the trial, Mr. Tian saw his wife, and Ms. Liu's case was posted on a bulletin board. She was charged with “sabotaging law enforcement,” which was different from what the attorney had told him. The attorney couldn't give an explanation when questioned by Mr. Tian.
Mr. Tian and his daughter saw several officers from the Xinglong Village 610 Office and a few plainclothes officers outside the court. They also saw Dong Shuwei, the deputy director of the Social Stability Division of the Shizhong District Political and Judiciary Committee. Those officers kept watching Mr. Tian and his daughter until the court session ended.
