(Clearwisdom.net) On December 31, 2011 at 5:00 a.m., officers from the Harbin Police Department arrested several dozen Falun Gong practitioners from Harbin City and Shuangcheng City, both in Heilongjiang Province. Wang Xiaoxi, Deputy Director of the Harbin Police Department, authorized and directed this operation.
According to a source in one prison, the police mobilized all police forces from prisons to arrest practitioners that day. Officials from that prison arrested a dozen practitioners. An estimated total of forty to fifty practitioners were arrested. Some practitioners' family members were arrested as well and many homes of these practitioners were ransacked. The police monitored and traced practitioners by following them, monitoring their cell phones, and monitoring their computer QQ access.
Also, according to an insider from the police department, officials from the State Security Bureau and Domestic Security Division in Harbin had sent some informants who pretended to be practitioners and joined the practitioner community in Harbin for a long time. They claimed to be practitioners from other cities and had come to Harbin in order to avoid being persecuted by the police in their hometown. They stayed with practitioners from Harbin and provided the police with information, which led to the arrest of many practitioners. These informants are normally graduates from police schools. They want to get a job with the police and thus join the Domestic Security Division to do bad deeds.
