Floriade is Australia’s largest celebration of spring and the largest floral exhibition in the southern hemisphere. It runs for 30 days in September and October, showcasing one million flowers in Canberra’s Commonwealth Park. Each year the event welcomes over 40 thousand locals and tourists.
The Falun Gong Divine Marching Band and Waist Drum Troupe have performed at the event for many years to share the benefits of Falun Gong with the community. The majestic music from the Marching Band and the lively drumming by the Waist Drum Troupe often prompted crowd members to shout out praises.
Frank, a visitor at the event, saw for the first time the performance by the Divine Land Marching Band on September 27, 2014. He took many photos and applauded each piece. “The performance is superb and I am so glad to hear them play 'Waltzing Matilda' (a widely known bush ballad in Australia).”
The Floriade drew many Chinese tourists and practitioners made sure to inform them about the persecution and dispel the CCP's lies about Falun Gong. According to Ms. Liu, a practitioner at the event, she personally helped 81 Chinese people quit the CCP and its affiliates.
