(Minghui.org) Recently, I got my driver's license. This would normally be nothing remarkable, but for me, this was a miracle considering where I was just a few years ago.
I was making barbeque in front of my family-run restaurant at 11 pm on June 7, 2007, when I saw a man holding a knife chasing another guy. I successfully stopped the person wielding the knife from stabbing his target, but I was badly injured in the process.
I had a 5-inch long cut on my head. My skull and right ear were smashed, and blood and brain matter soaked my shirt. My pupils were dilated, and doctors sent a pre-death notice to my parents.
In the intensive care unit (ICU), I received 10,000 cc of blood. After being in a coma for 13 days, I finally woke up.
While I was in a coma, I saw a ghost taking me to hell. At the gates of hell, a guard said to me: “Your number is not up yet, so you cannot come in here.” The ghost took me back to the human world, and then I woke up.
The doctor told my father that I was extremely lucky. In that month, out of 20 patients that came into the ICU, 18 had died. My father, a Falun Dafa practitioner, said to me: “Do you remember how you quit the Communist Young Pioneers last years after I talked to you? I believe that helped you pull through.”
I survived, but was disabled. The doctor removed a piece of smashed skull, and replaced it with three steel plates. I was certified as being having a “third degree disability.”
I could not look after myself, and I was hospitalized twice more for further treatment, as my injury did not really heal.
After the second hospitalization, I decided to practice Falun Gong with my father. Amazingly, I soon experienced a complete recovery.
Recently, I took driving lessons and the road test. I got nearly a perfect score in both. Considering that I had brain matter on my shirt as I lay in a coma just a few years ago, I feel so lucky and blessed.
“Cultivating in Falun Dafa has restored my health and given me wisdom,” I often tell my friends and family.
