(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) sometimes uses indirect approaches to force practitioners to give up their beliefs. One example is a Guarantee Card, that once signed, mandates one to renounce and stay away from cults, or else be expelled from school or work.
Many practitioners refuse to sign these cards because they are largely implemented to target Falun Gong. Ms. Zhao Weihong (赵卫红), a chemical company employee, was recently sent to a brainwashing center for refusing to sign such a card.
Ms. Zhao, in her forties, works at the Daqing Oilfield Chemical Group. Under the instruction of Liu Xingping from the Daqing Oilfield 610 Office, officials held a meeting in March 2014. They forced all employees to sign the Guarantee Card and answer written questions that slandered Falun Gong. Banners that defamed Falun Gong were also hung in the dining hall and at the company entrance.
When Ms. Zhao refused to sign the card, officials threatened to send her to a brainwashing center. Ms. Zhao told them the facts about Falun Gong, but they did not listen. They removed her from her post at the testing laboratory and turned her into a janitor. She was not allowed to take a break when cleaning, and 200 yuan was deducted from her salary without explanation.
Officials also exerted pressure on Ms. Zhao's husband, and pressured him into choking his own wife. Ms. Zhao could hardly breathe as the officials looked on and mocked her.
Ms. Zhao was working in the lab on October 30, 2014, when a group of people stormed in and took her to the Qiqihar Brainwashing Center, where she remains today. She did not have a chance to change clothes, and was still wearing her work clothing.
