(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners held a grand march in Hong Kong on December 7, 2014 to mark the 10th anniversary of the publication of the editorial commentaries by The Epoch Times, an independent newspaper that provides uncensored news about China.
The march also supported those who have withdrawn their membership in the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations and called for people of conscience to help stop the persecution of Falun Gong.
The Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party completely reveals the nature of the CCP and its crimes against humanity. The wide spreading of the Nine Commentaries caused a stir in China and started a movement in which more than 180 million Chinese people have renounced their membership in the CCP and its affiliated organizations thus far.
The Divine Land Marching Band leads the march
The march spanned 2:00-5:00 pm with nearly 800 practitioners participating. It consisted of six processions, including “Calling for the conscience to help stop the persecution,” “Peacefully and rationally protesting the persecution,” “Promoting righteousness to eliminate evil,” “Nine Commentaries and disintegration of the CCP,” “Promoting a conscience to disintegrate the CCP,” and “Knowing the facts for a bright future.”
The march started from the King's Playground, proceeded through downtown, passed by shopping centers in Causeway Bay, Wan Chai, Admiralty and Central, and arrived at its destination: the Liaison Office of the China Central Government.
The grand march caught the attention of passersby and tourists, many of whom paused to watch the march and take photos. Some shouted “Falun Dafa is great!” and “Way to go, Falun Gong!” Some tourists from mainland China were surprised and said it was their first time to see a Falun Gong march.
Some spectators had heard or read about the Nine Commentaries. Others had renounced their CCP membership. During the march, some tourists from the mainland asked Falun Gong practitioners to process their withdrawl from the CCP and its affiliated organizations after hearing more about Falun Gong and the persecution.

Mainland Students and Tourists: The Nine Commentaries Are Well Known and Withdrawal from the Party Is Common
A first-year undergraduate student from Guangzhou who attends a Hong Kong university said excitedly after watching the march, “I heard of Falun Gong's protest of the persecution. This was my first time to see it in person, and I was very surprised.”
She said, “I knew about the book, the Nine Commentaries. Some of my friends and I have renounced our membership in the Party. The book is well-known, and withdrawal from the Party is common in China. Many people who went to other countries, Hong Kong and Macao, bring the news back to China.”
Ms. He from Zhejiang said she had just withdrawn her Party membership with the help of a Falun Gong practitioner. She said, “I admire the freedom of speech in Hong Kong. In China, such news is tightly controlled. I seldom hear of it.”
Ms. Tang and Ms. Lu were surprised to see the march. Ms. Tang said, “Can one practice Falun Gong in Hong Kong? It is not allowed in mainland China.” Hearing how widespread Falun Gong is across the world, Ms. Tang asked, “Why does the Party ban it? We are going to read the book and the materials to learn more,” while holding the Nine Commentaries book and other informational materials.
Support from Hong Kong Residents
Hong Kong resident Mr. Du praised the Nine Commentaries book and supported the march. “You people do what many Chinese people dare not do. I read the book Nine Commentaries. It is completely right in describing the nature of the CCP,” he said. Another resident, Mr. Chen, shouted, “Falun Dafa is great! Give it a thumbs up!”
A man in his 60s on Queens Road said to Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hong and Ms. Zheng, “I read the Nine Commentaries carefully ten years ago. I support you! I've read your informational materials for years and know the facts. The CCP is so cruel and inhumane in the persecution of Falun Gong.”
Mr. Wu, 85, lives with four generations of his family. He and his grandson watched the march together. He said, “There were fewer marches before the Communist Party took over Hong Kong. The Party is very bad. What is the future for the young people? I know Falun Gong is good, and I support you.”
