(Minghui.org) Yang Qiuhong, Party secretary of the Longnan Political and Legal Affairs Committee in Gansu Province, ordered her subordinates to further the persecution of Ms. Yang Xuqin and other practitioners in Hui County, in an effort to seek a promotion.
Yang applied for a promotion before her retirement. Her supervisor, the Provincial Political and Legal Affairs Committee authorities, blocked her promotion, blaming her ineffectiveness in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners in Hui County in 2012. Yang then scolded her subordinates and constantly pressured Hui County Political and Legal Affairs Committee to further persecute Ms.Yang Xuqin, along with other practitioners in Hui County.
Hui County Political and Legal Affairs Committee authorities then pressured Ms. Yang's school and tried to get her wages suspended and have her dismissed. Zhang Feng, newly appointed chief of Hui County 610 Office, actively cooperated and threatened to punish relevant personnel if they failed to find Ms. Yang's whereabouts.
Ms. Yang, 44, an outstanding teacher at Hui County No. 1 High School, has been moving from place to place in the past year to avoid arrest, after being repeatedly detained for her practice of Falun Gong.
Prior Persecution
Ms. Yang was arrested twice from 2012 to 2013, and detained for half a year. She suffered severe physical and mental torture during the detention, which caused her digestive problems and weight loss. Hui County Domestic Security Division fabricated charges and attempted to sentence her but failed. She was bailed out twice.
Ms. Yang had no lessons to teach but was asked to go to the school the morning of April 27, 2012. A group of police officers were waiting for her and took her cell phone and keys. They then ransacked her home and confiscated over ten Falun Gong books, two computers, a printer, a digital camera and a cell phone.
Ms. Yang was released 23 days later on medical parole, after her husband resorted to all possible channels and spent 40,000 yuan on bribes to relevant parties of the Procuratorate and the police department.
Ms. Yang was again arrested at her home on the morning of January 22, 2013, and detained again for four months. She was bailed out on May 22, 2013.
Ms. Yang was forcibly taken to a brainwashing center for six days in August 2013. Police attempted to arrest her again in October but failed since she was not at school.
Ms. Yang had to leave her home in order to avoid the arrest.
Family Also Persecuted
Ms.Yang's husband and daughter cannot avoid the persecution either.
Her husband had to bear tremendous mental pressure. As a result, he often pressured Ms. Yang to give up her believe and even tried to use divorce to coerce her.
Officers from the Domestic Security Division often harassed the husband and daughter, trying to force them to reveal Ms. Yang's whereabouts. This has caused the family to live in stress and fear.
Officers Tian Li and Wang Jianguo even went to Ms Yang's daughter's school, called her out from an exam, and questioned her for her mom's whereabouts, without a guardian present.
When Ms. Yang's bail period was about to expired on May 22, 2014, police called her husband (bail guarantor) to the office and deceived him saying that they wanted to settle the case, but that Ms. Yang must come back.
Officers Tian Li and Wang Jianguo again threatened her husband on June 10 and said they would punish the guarantor if Ms. Yang did not come back. Ms. Yang's husband was later fined 1000 yuan.
