(Minghui.org) Court authorities in Zhenxing District have failed to provide case papers detailing Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Sun Zhongren's illegal arrest to his attorney and family members, as required by law. No information regarding his case had been received as of March 10, 2014. Prosecutor Li Xiaoying said that even if they had the case files, they would not share them with the family.
Mr. Sun, his wife Ms. Fan Yuqin, and their son, were abducted from their house on November 25, 2013, by police officers Hu Depeng, Jia Hongye, and Wang Huibin from Xianwei Detention Center. The officers ransacked the home and took electronics, 500 yuan worth of paper currency with truth-clarification messages written on it, Dafa books, and other items of value.
Mr. Sun's wife Fan Yuqin was released that afternoon due to having high blood pressure, and the son was released two days later. Mr. Sun, however, was not released. When Mr. Sun was brought to trial by the district Procuratorate in December, his family and lawyer pleaded not-guilty. When head Jin Qiao of the Xianwei Detention Center saw the defense statement, he panicked and said he was just following orders from above.
Mr. Sun's family was constantly harassed. His son received threatening phone calls on several occasions from a police officer named Wang Ning, instructing his mother to go to the hospital for a check-up, where they could arrest her. Hence, Ms. Fan was forced to leave home to avoid being illegally persecuted.
