Mr. Li is from Liaoning Province, China and works in Chinatown. He videotaped the entire parade, and said, “The persecution of Falun Gong is severe in Liaoning. I’ve been in Toronto for two years and this is the first time I've seen a parade this large. I want to record it so that more people from China can learn about Falun Gong's popularity outside of China.”
Cindy arrived in Toronto a few months ago from China. This was her first time seeing a Falun Gong parade, “I learned about Falun Dafa from this parade. The media in China all slander Falun Gong. I think Falun Gong is great and have been taking pictures.”
Mr. Wang came from Shandong two years ago. He still remembers when the persecution of Falun Gong in China began in 1999. His mother practiced Falun Gong, and the police often harassed her. He said, “Many Falun Gong practitioners disappeared for no reason. It’s true.” He supports the practitioners’ efforts to call for an end to the persecution, “Everyone should be part of it and stand up against the persecution.”
