(Minghui.org) Ms. Liang Meihua was released from Jiangxi Province Women's Prison in 2013, after enduring abuse and torture for nearly ten years. She was arrested again on November 18, 2013, by officers from Guangrunmen Police Station in Nanchang City. Xihu Court officials have recently set a trial date for her.
Ms. Liang was reported by someone who did not know the facts about the persecution, and was arrested at 5:00 p.m. on November 18, 2103. She was detained and interrogated. Police officer Xiong Guohua from Xihu Domestic Security Division searched her house without a warrant, and without notifying Ms. Liang.
Ms. Liang was diagnosed with a lung problem during a hospital medical exam. The detention center refused to admit her and suggested she be placed under house arrest.
However, the Guangrunmen Police Station head insisted on locking her up. Officers Chen Honghao and Wang Liuqing from Kuzixiang Police Station falsified the interrogation statements, and that paper work was then handed over to the Xihu District Procuratorate to prosecute Ms. Liang. The trial will be held soon. Ms. Liang's family has hired a lawyer to defend her.
Ms. Liang, 66, previously worked at Nanchang Overseas Chinese Corporation in Jiangxi Province. During the 15-year-long persecution of Falun Gong, she was imprisoned for nearly a decade and detained at police stations, detention centers, forced labor camps, and prison. She has endured torture that severely damaged her physical and mental health. Her family has also suffered hardships.
