(Minghui.org) News about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is censored in China and a taboo subject for state-run media. Practitioners have been arrested, tortured and even persecuted to death for informing the public about this persecution.
Writing or printing words explaining the facts about the persecution on paper currency (money) has become popular in many areas in China in recent years, and has proven to be a great way to inform the public. Police from Wuhan City have been arresting practitioners and trying to stop these notes from circulating.
Officials from the Wuhan Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC), 610 Office and Police Department raided several material production sites on July 22, 2014, where messages were printed on bills. They arrested 11 practitioners and seized 20,000 bills, worth 76,000 yuan. Fourteen machines used to print information on the currency, including computers and printers, were also confiscated.
This is the third such raid by the authorities in Wuhan this year. The first two occurred in April and June. Since the beginning of this year, nine material production sites were raided, 38 practitioners were arrested, many bills seized and 34 machines including computers and printers were confiscated.
Officials from the Wuchang District PLAC, police and personnel from the neighborhood committees confiscated bills with truth clarification information on them from local residents. So far they have confiscated currency worth nearly 170,000 yuan.
