(Minghui.org) I'm from Pintung County, Taiwan, and I became a practitioner in 2001. My 80-year-old mother-in-law is also a practitioner. She talks to people and distributes informational pamphlets about Falun Dafa at the Eluanbi tourist sites on Tuesdays. I usually take a day off from my clothing store and accompany her on those days. We take the tour bus to Eluanbi and it takes more than 3 hours one-way.
Many elderly practitioners can be seen at Eluanbi year round. They are very diligent and their cultivation state is good. Some of them have encouraged 40-50 Chinese to leave the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and/or its affiliates in just one day, while I was only able to get a handful to quit.
I looked inward to examine my cultivation state, “Did I study the Fa diligently? Did I criticize the Mainland Chinese when they failed to understand the purpose of quitting the CCP and its affiliates? Is this a suitable project for me? Maybe I should talk to the Chinese on the Internet instead?”
Moments later I thought, “How can I think of opting out of this project when faced with difficulties and when I am supposed to be saving sentient beings? Isn't this an opportunity to upgrade my cultivation level? If the elderly practitioners can handle it, why can't I do it?” I truly admired those elderly practitioners. They remained calm and kept their smiles even when the tour guides rebuked them in front of the tourists.
“The reason an increasing number of Mainland tourists are visiting Taiwan is because they are waiting to be saved,” I thought. Therefore I decided to devote my time to be at Eluanbi with my mother-in-law the past two years.
Master said,
“Many things in the Fa-rectification period aren’t that simple, and nothing is one-dimensional. Things arranged by gods involve multiple factors. When someone heads abroad [from China], well, since he isn’t able to hear the truth while in China, isn’t he being directed to go overseas so that he can learn the truth?” (“Fa Teaching at the 2013 Western U.S. Fa Conference”)Taiwanese Needed in Hong Kong
Hong Kong is under the jurisdiction of the CCP. Many people from Mainland China come to Hong Kong for work or travel. Hong Kong practitioners need the help and support from practitioners in Taiwan.
A practitioner who returned from Hong Kong shared her touching experience with me, and her story prompted me to go to Hong Kong. But I struggled with my human attachments at the same time and thought, “My son needs money for his wedding. The economy is not good, and I'd have to ask a friend to take care of my clothing store while I'm gone. I need long naps in the afternoon, and so on.” I also knew that as long as I had the heart, and continued to send forth righteous thoughts, Master, the founder of Falun Dafa, would arrange things for me.
I had been to Hong Kong previously to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa, but they were one day trips. I left early in the morning when my husband worked the evening shift, and returned a few minutes before he arrived home. Sometimes I would skip the shower, get into bed, and pretend to be sound asleep.
I would be gone for two weeks this time, and I needed my husband's consent. Since we didn't celebrate my birthday this year, I asked my husband if he would let me go to Hong Kong as his gift to me. Surprisingly, he told me to do whatever I wanted to do.
Wishing for Opportunities to Go to Hong Kong
Last September was the first time I went to Hong Kong for two weeks. I distributed informational materials about Falun Dafa and encouraged the Chinese to quit the Party and its affiliates. I was free from any responsibility at home and at the store. Therefore, I could study the Falun Dafa books, send righteous thoughts and talk to people about the practice while in Hong Kong. It was a great experience. Hong Kong practitioners are very diligent in their cultivation and in saving sentient beings, which helped me see my own shortcomings.
I treasured every minute I was in Hong Kong. There were so many Mainland Chinese waiting to be saved. When I saw the Chinese tourists reading our display board through the tour bus window, I became very emotional and nearly cried. We waved at each other when their tour bus pulled away. I think their knowing side understood, and this was the moment they'd been waiting for. Although I was tired, I was very happy.
I was reluctant to leave Hong Kong. I said to Master, “I'd like to stay for a while. Please give me another opportunity to come here.”
And my wish came true! I went to Hong Kong for another two weeks this February with an 80-year-old practitioner. I made a wish after we landed in Hong Kong, “Please help me Master. I'd like to save 1,000 precious Mainland Chinese.”
In order to seize this hard-won opportunity and fulfill my wish, I often went to three different tourist sites in one day. To save time so that I could tell the facts to more people, I would recite the Fa while going from place to place.
Letting Go of the Fear of Darkness
I stayed with other practitioners at a dormitory. I was often the first one to leave in the morning and the last one to come back in the evening, but I felt wonderful! I came back late in the evening one time. The first floor and the hallway were pitch dark, and I had to go to the fifth floor. I was afraid and waited for another practitioner so that we could climb the stairs together. No one came, so I knew I had to get rid of my fear of the darkness. I gathered all my strength and recited the Fa as I climbed the stairs. To my surprise, there was light when I reached the second floor.
Sometimes I delivered newspapers for The Epoch Times. Therefore, near the end of the second week, I didn't have time to get as many Chinese to quit the CCP and its affiliates. Since it was more important to cooperate with local practitioners, I was not attached to the number of people that I encouraged to quit. After all, Master is the one doing everything.
The 80-year-old practitioner and I discussed our plan the day before returning to Taiwan. We decided that on our last day, she would distribute informational materials and send forth righteous thoughts, and I would encourage people to withdraw from the Party and reach my goal of 1,000 people.
The elderly practitioner was worried that we would miss our flight home. She is 80-years-old and I didn't want to stress her out, so I promised her that we would go to the airport on time, even if we didn't reach the number that I wanted.
Then an amazing thing happened. Many Chinese tourists showed up and agreed to quit the Party and its affiliates on our last day. One hundred people withdrew within three hours, and we reached the goal of 1,000!
I was grateful for Master's help. It is truly like Master says, “When disciples have ample righteous thoughts / Master has the power to turn back the tide” (“The Master-Disciple Bond” from Hong Yin Vol. II)
Elevating One's Mind in Hong Kong
I went to Hong Kong for another two weeks in June of this year. The experience has been different each time, and I was able to elevate my xinxing level. This time I was able to restrain myself when a shop owner yelled at me and when a street cleaner was rude to me. Had I not maintained my xinxing, I probably would not have been able to save any sentient beings that day.
Every incident I encountered was a test for me. I'm glad I was able to break through myself, and cultivate as if I were just starting. I gained tremendously on my trips to Hong Kong.
We are truly one body. I wouldn't have been able to encourage that many people to leave the Party without other practitioners' help sending forth righteous thoughts, holding display boards, and distributing informational materials.
I hope more practitioners can go to Hong Kong or other tourist sites to clarify the truth. We are assisting Master in the Fa-rectification regardless of what we do. Let's save more sentient beings and fulfill our vows.
I have just shared my cultivation experience the last two years at the tourist sites. Please kindly point out anything inappropriate.
Finally, I would like recite Master's poem to encourage everyone.
“As Dafa disciples clarify the truthSharp swords shoot forth from their mouthsTearing open the rotten demons’ liesLose no time and save them, hurry up and tell them” (“Hurry Up And Tell Them” from Hong Yin Vol. II)
