(Minghui.org) When a mother and a friend arrived at the Hecheng District Court to observe the trial of four Falun Gong practitioners, they were stopped at the gate and detained for eight hours.
Mother and Friend Detained
The four practitioners were being tried in the Hecheng District Court on the morning of July 30, 2014 . When their friend Ms. Li Shirong and Ms. Tang's 80-year-old mother arrived at 8:00 a.m. that day, Yang Jun, director of Hecheng District 610 Office, blocked their way right after they entered the gate.
Yang said that there more no more tickets to gain entry and did not allow them in. Ms. Li explained that they just wanted to see the practitioners' faces, but Yang still said no.
Several police officers then came and carried Ms. Li away by her arms toward a police car. When she resisted, a policeman picked up her feet as well. They put her inside the car and took Ms. Tang's mother away with her.
The two women were taken to the Hutian Police Station and detained for more than eight hours. They were released after the hearing ended around 4:30 p.m.
The four practitioners on trial were Ms. Tang Qingying, Ms. Yin Qiuyang, Ms. Tang Kaiju, and Ms. Xiao Guiying.
Arrested for Requesting the Release of Other Practitioners
When the four Falun Gong practitioners went to the Hecheng Domestic Security Division on April 9 to ask for the release of several other practitioners, they were all arrested. They were taken to the Huaihua City Detention Center. The Procuratorate approved the arrest the same day. (For more information: Practitioners’ Families Appeal Their Loved Ones' Illegal Arrest)
Ms. Tang's mother went to the local 610 Office multiple times to ask for her daughter's release but to no avail.
