(Minghui.org) Invited by City of Canterbury, Falun Dafa practitioners and their Divine Land Marching Band joined the Lakemba Haldon Street Festival for the sixth time on August 23, 2014.
Falun Dafa practitioners' Divine Land Marching Band was an attraction at the 2014 Lakemba Haldon Street Festival in Canterbury.
The City of Canterbury is a local area in the inner southwest region of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The Lakemba area is about 15 kilometers (9 miles) from the city center of Sydney, and is the commercial and political center of Canterbury. The theme of the annual Haldon Street Festival is “Respect, Unity, and Peace.” It has become a landmark local event.
This year's festival attracted nearly 25,000 people from over 100 countries. Visitors enjoyed international gourmet food and diverse cultures, and celebrated community spirit.
The Divine Land Marching Band performed “Falun Dafa Is Good,” “Delivering the Treasure,” and other pieces. Some spectators danced with the music and the audience warmly applauded the performance.
As the band passed by the main stage, the master of ceremonies introduced them, explaining, “This is the Falun Dafa entry. Falun Dafa originates from ancient traditional Chinese practice, and adheres to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. It helps practitioners obtain mental and physical well-being, and has spread to over 100 countries.”
