(Minghui.org) Fifteen Falun Gong practitioners were arrested by police from Zigong City and Weiyuan County in Sichuan between July 5 and July 15, 2014
Zigong City police took away five elderly practitioners on July 5. Their computers, printers, and Falun Gong informational material were confiscated. They were denied family visits.
Ten officers from Zijing District and Futai Community broke into Ms. Gao Shufen's home on July 5 at 6 p.m. They took her away by force, and confiscated personal belongings worth over ten thousand yuan. Ms. Gao has been released on bail, and is under house surveillance.
Three practitioners were arrested on the street at 4:30 p.m. on July 5, and taken to Tanmulin Police Station. Those arrested were Yan Xiang from Zigong City, and Ms. Wu Xiurong and Mr. Liu Wangquan from Weiyuan County, Neijiang City.
On July 6, at 3 a.m. Ms. Wu Xiurong's home was broken into and ransacked by Zhang Bin and at least a dozen officers from Weiyuan County Police Department. They confiscated over 40,000 yuan with truth-clarification messages printed on the bills. They then ransacked Liu Wangquan's home, and arrested his wife Liu Jianping. Ms. Liu is held at Weiyuan County Detention Center, her 86-year-old mother was left home alone without care. Mr. Liu was released on the morning of July 6.
Also on July 6, Mr. Huang Shengkui and Ms. Tang Kefang, a couple from Xindian Town, and Mr. and Mrs. Liu from Zhenxi Town were taken away by Weiyuan police. The police extorted money from Mr. and Mrs. Liu's children before releasing them.
Zigong City police arrested Ms. Wang Zhijian, ransacked her home, and put her in detention. When a physical exam found health problems, instead of releasing her they put her under “residential surveillance” in Guangda Hospital. She has been denied family visits.
Ms. Liu Suyu was arrested on July 15, while talking to people about Falun Gong in a bus terminal in South Weiyuan County. She is held at Neijiang City Detention Center.
