(Minghui.org) Two years ago, when my granddaughter was in the fourth grade, she had an argument with a classmate. The girl broke her glasses and threw them on the ground. They got into a big fight, and my granddaughter ran home in tears. Her parents felt she had been bullied, and wanted to take the matter further.
Her father called the head teacher and reported the matter. The teacher was very angry. She called in the other girl's parents and admonished them. She said, “You should compensate the family for the damage—at least pay for another pair of glasses.” The girl's grandfather took my granddaughter to the optometrist and purchased another pair of glasses, which cost 100 yuan.
I heard what happened when I returned home from another city. I had met the girl's grandfather before when we picked up our grandchildren from school. My wife had already told him about Falun Gong and how to withdraw from the CCP. He also knew that we practiced Falun Gong.
Could it be accidental that something like this happened to someone we knew? Although he spent only 100 yuan, would it have a negative impact on him? Dafa practitioners must be good people, and better than average, to save people.
When it was the time to pick up the kids from school, I found the girl's grandfather, who was chatting with a group of people. I gave him back the 100 yuan, and he yelled, “What's the big deal? It's only 100 yuan!”
“It may not be a big deal to you or me,” I said, “but have you thought about the harm to our kids? They may never forget what happened! They are in primary school, but when they are in a university, will they forget this incident? Shouldn't we, as their elders, help resolve any conflicts for the younger generation? We have to lay a foundation of friendship and give them a good example. We can't ignore our responsibilities, right?”
He said, “I'm really impressed by practitioners. I know you do not take advantage of others, and you have such foresight! All right, I'll accept it.” As I walked away, I heard him telling the others, “Falun Gong practitioners do not take advantage of others. The CCP is really sick. It does not let them practice. Instead, it protects the corrupt people.”
After we dealt with this, the relationship between the two children underwent a big change. They became very close, like sisters. They helped each other study, chatted on the phone and online, and later, when the head teacher noticed how close they had become, even she thought it was amazing.
When the teacher asked the other girl why, the girl said, “They practice Falun Gong, and her Teacher does not want her to take advantage of others.” The teacher was very moved, and said, “People who practice that are so different. They are very upstanding. It would be great if everyone was like that. Plus, then my job would be easier.”
