(Minghui.org) Since late May 2015, more than 180,000 Falun Gong practitioners around the globe have filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin for initiating the persecution of Falun Gong. In some areas of China, however, the police and legislative agencies have harassed and arrested the plaintiffs.
This is, in fact, a very good opportunity for fellow practitioners to clarify the facts to officials–they need to understand that this harassment is illegal and that they are interfering with the law.
Beside the fact that there has never been a legal basis for the persecution, according to a State Department regulation, as of March 2015, it is illegal for anyone to intervene with the process of criminal cases. The police are not allowed to make any decisions regarding collecting evidence, examination, or sentencing.
One practitioner was contacted by the police and residential committee staff shortly after he filed his complaint. Instead of running away, he went to talk to the police.
“Shouldn’t we sue Jiang Zemin? He persecutes Falun Gong and is responsible for so many disasters in our country. Even you should file a complaint against him,” he told the officers.
They said, “We all know how the Communist Party is. What you are doing will not change the situation. We have been monitoring you for a long time.”
The practitioner said, “I’m not afraid. I’ve used my real name to sue Jiang–what am I afraid of? But I'm concerned about you. There is no legal basis for the persecution. Don't you know it’s illegal for you to intercept my complaint? You shouldn’t blindly follow orders to persecute us. That's not a good thing for you to do.”
After the conversation with the practitioner, the police agreed to stop participating in the persecution. An arrest was thus resolved with a good ending.
