(Minghui.org) Ms. Pan Lijuan from Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, was arrested and detained because local police learned that she had filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.
Officers from the Jianchangying Police Station in Chifeng City broke into Ms. Pan's home on the morning of October 18, 2015. They arrested her and ransacked her home.
Ms. Pan, in her 40s, was taken to the Pingzhuang Detention Center in the Yanbaoshan District. Her husband Mr. Liu Zhanguo was also arrested at the same time, but he was released that night.
The police also took many items from their home, including Dafa books and materials like Minghui Weekly, posters, four computers, and a large number of other personal items. Based on information from Ms. Pan's relatives, the police took a carload of personal belongings.
The police said they arrested the couple and ransacked their home because someone had reported them. Based on the following evidence, that seems unlikely: 1) The police showed up early in the morning, having driven from 80 miles away; 2) When they broke in, one officer quickly blocked the kitchen door and did not allow Ms. Pan’s husband to get in, while other officers called out the name of each person in the family.
It seems that the police were given information that Ms. Pan had filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, as well as details about the family and general household information.
