(Minghui.org) I have been detained twice by the local police, so I searched within when I was arrested the second time. I found an attachment to fear. For example, I had not joined the local group of practitioners because I was concerned about my safety.
I had always hoped to join one of the local Fa study groups after being released, but none of them met after I got off work.
Eliminate Interference
Last year, another practitioner wanted to join a Fa study group. I discussed this with the local coordinator, who decided to create a new group that would include practitioners with writing skills. Four of us joined, and a weekly Fa study was scheduled for every Friday afternoon.
The first two weeks, however, none of us were able to attend. Then, before we were to meet the third week, my sister asked me to deal with an urgent matter for her. I realized that the old forces were interfering with me, so I went to the Fa study.
Before the next Fa study, I dreamed that I would be in danger if I went. What was more, I saw a police car just as I left home to attend the group study. I thought I would be arrested if I went, but again I realized that this was interference. I held back any negative thoughts and encouraged myself all the way to the place we met. Nothing bad happened.
Afterwards, we exchanged opinions over certain issues in local areas, and we also put together information and ideas for new articles to be submitted to the Minghui website. I understood that Master had arranged this for us to improve our xinxing.
Double Check All Information
In the latter part of the last year, I heard that a practitioner I knew had been persecuted to death. I was astonished. I had gotten to know her when I was detained. She gave me the impression that she firmly believed in Master and the Fa, and often searched inward during the many years of being persecuted in the detention center.
I shared my thoughts about this with the practitioners after Fa study. We agreed to report this to the Minghui website as soon as possible but first collected and checked all available information. I realized that it was my duty to expose the facts because I was her acquaintance.
We could not connect with anyone in the know or any other credible source, but we decided to go ahead and submit whatever information we had to the Minghui website.
Minghui published our article within a few days. However, the local coordinator sent me an email that, according to feedback from practitioners at Minghui, the practitioner was still alive in the detention center. Apparently all practitioners had to be “transformed” or were not released.
After reading the email, I was baffled. Was what I had learned not correct? Of course, it would be the best if the practitioner was still alive. In that case, I had to make the correction as soon as possible. However, the argument about not being released until “transformed” did not sit right, especially since I had learned from many cases that a practitioner was able to get out of detention with righteous thoughts.
We checked reliable sources and it was confirmed that the practitioner had been persecuted to death. We thought that perhaps her parents were threatened by the authorities and had not revealed her death. The coordinator informed the Minghui website of the real situation.
So why did I feel so upset when I first read the email? After further searching inward, I realized that I wanted to protect myself, I still had a fighting mentality, and I was still jealous and resentful.
I calmed down and reflected again. In my article I had written: “Practitioner A was persecuted to death.” I should have written: “We have learned from a credible source is that Practitioner A was persecuted to death, but the situation needs to be double checked.” That way, the article would have complied with “Truthfulness,” which is one of the principles of Falun Gong. Through this, I have learned how to write an article in line with Falun Gong's requirements.
Take Cultivation Seriously
On another occasion, our team discussed local issues. For example, some of us were too attached to the timing of the Fa rectification and did not take cultivation seriously. This problem was very serious in our area, and it affected practitioners' cultivation. Thus, we decided to submit an article to Minghui, so we could alert our fellow practitioners.
At home I wrote an article summarizing the team's opinions. However, I felt that the article was not thorough in certain respects, nor clear enough. I sent it to the coordinator to revise but did not get his reply for several days.
I then had a vivid dream. I locked up bikes that weren't mine with my own locks. After I woke up, I tried to search inward. Writing articles is also cultivation. I saw the imperfection but did not make the effort to improve it. If I submitted such an article, wouldn't I be ignoring the opportunity to improve myself? Haven't I made more work for other practitioners who revise my work?
I revised my article in line with Master's Fa teaching, and I tried my best to make the article clearer. Then I submitted it to Minghui. That night in a dream, Master enlightened me that I had done the right thing. After a few days, the article was published on the website.
I could feel truly that Master makes every effort to help us improve. Master not only helps us recognize our attachments, but also helps us realize how to deal with problems in line with the Falun Gong principles.
We need to be able to work on our own, but we must also cooperate with each other. Master's endless efforts helps us mature in our cultivation.
