(Minghui.org) Ms. Xu Yajun, 60, has now been held in Jinzhou Detention Center for more than four months. She was told by the Linghe District Court on February 27, 2015, that she was sentenced to a three-year prison term. She appealed the verdict.
Ms. Xu was arrested on October 11, 2014, for distributing software that bypasses the Internet firewall.
Ms. Xu was tried in Linghe District Court on January 23, 2015. Her attorney refuted all the evidence presented by the prosecutors and pleaded not guilty on her behalf. She testified that practicing Falun Gong is not a crime. Her attorney demanded her release.
In the detention center, she refused to be treated as a criminal. She was held in a small cell during the day and taken back to the shared cell at night.
She was tied to a wooden board on a bed and given only one meal a day. She was brutally beaten by inmates and guards. They also hung her up by her handcuffs.
The situation changed for the better after her relatives made public how she was being tortured.
