(Minghui.org) A grandmother in Tianjin was sentenced to four-and-a-half years on April 30, but the court didn't inform her family until two weeks later, the day before her transfer to Tianjin Women's Prison on May 13.
Ms. Cui Xifen's only “crime” was practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party. A veteran practitioner of 14 years, she never stopped telling people how Falun Gong helped her regain her health and turned her into a more open-minded and considerate person.
Her simple act, however, led to her arrest on April 15 last year. Agents from the Nankai District Domestic Security Office and Street Committee stormed Ms. Cui's house and confiscated three printers, computer, cell phone, dozens of Falun Gong books and cash. She was held at the Nankai District Detention Center before her prison transfer this May.
Ms. Cui's young grandson often asks his grandpa, “Where is Grandma?” The old man can't stop his tears when he hears the boy's question.
