(Minghui.org) Member of the European Parliament Mr. Tunne Kelam of Estonia and Ms. Madi Sharma of the European Economic and Social Committee offered their congratulations on the 16th World Falun Dafa Day, which celebrates the anniversary of the practice's public introduction in China 23 years ago.
Mr. Tunne Kelam, Member of the European Parliament
Mr. Tunne Kelam, a national hero in Estonia, has been supportive of Falun Gong for many years. “I admire the perseverance and moral courage exhibited by [Falun Dafa] practitioners. They are expressing their belief in a peaceful way,” he said.
He urged Chinese leaders to reinstate Falun Gong practitioners' freedom of belief. “The regime was, in the beginning, supportive of Falun Gong. Now let them return to that position and regard Falun Gong as beneficial.”
Ms. Madi Sharma of the European Economic and Social Committee
Ms. Madi Sharma represents Britain in the European Economic and Social Committee. She is also an entrepreneur who has established several international corporations and organizations.
She has been supportive of Falun Gong practitioners' endeavors to end the persecution and encouraged them to continue: “I hope you continue to fight for your rights as citizens of China. Don't give up. It is worthwhile.”
Ms. Sharma is well aware of the brutality of the Chinese communist regime. She hosted an international conference to discuss how to stop forced organ harvesting and trafficking in China at the headquarters of the European Economic and Social Committee on March 19, 2014. Experts and Members of the European Parliament attended.
