(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Li Chunhua recently filed two criminal complaints as part of a wave of lawsuits against the former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin.
One of the complaints was sent to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the other to the Supreme People's Court in Beijing.

Ms. Li asked the highest Chinese judicial organ to bring Jiang to justice for ordering the brutal suppression of Falun Gong 16 years ago.
Furthermore, she demanded that officials redress the persecution, clear the names of the founder of the practice Mr. Li Hongzhi, allow publication of Falun Gong literature, and provide a legal environment for the followers of the practice.
Additionally, she asked that officials reimburse her for seven years of lost wages, covering the time during which she was incarcerated and destitute, as well as the financial losses she suffered during the persecution.
Past Legal Complaints
In 2004, Ms. Li filed criminal complaints against the individuals and government agencies responsible for her suffering and losses. She later dropped the suit.
The 22 months of torture, from 1999 to 2001, though, remained engraved in her mind. The torture methods included beatings, solitary confinement, being hung up by handcuffs, and sleep deprivation in the Qiqihar Forced Labor Camp. She also had to perform forced labor, such as producing pesticide without any protective equipment.
Ms. Li, 51, from Qiqihar, is a former art teacher whose work had won state-level awards. Because her physical and mental health improved greatly from practicing Falun Gong, she refused to give up the practice and was persecuted since the onset of the persecution in 1999.
Background
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
