(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners are now exercising their legal rights to sue Jiang Zemin for launching the persecution of their spiritual beliefs for the past sixteen years – a movement that has been gaining strength by the day.
The Minghui website receives copies of criminal complaints against Jiang from numerous practitioners every day. From this selection of copies received on June 14, 2015, we see that this persecution has affected practitioners leading mainstream Chinese society including a professor, a doctor and a high-level administrator.
Because of the persecution, all three were fired from their jobs and had to struggle financially in order to make ends meet.
But these practitioners were not the only victims; in particular, the professor's wife, also a professor and a Falun Gong practitioner, became traumatized and suffered from many mental breakdowns due to torture during her detainment. Still, the authorities refused to release her.
A young medical student at Jiamusi University’s Medical College, Ms. Chen Jing was put under surveillance by the school as a result of giving out informational flyers exposing the persecution. Her roommates were interrogated by the school and were asked to monitor her daily life.
The college threatened to expel Ms. Chen if she did not renounce her beliefs. As a result, her parents and brother-in-law wrote a renouncing statement for her, but she refused to sign it. Her parents, who were in their 60s, knelt down in front of her, begging her to give up her practice of Falun Gong.
“My heart was broken. But my parents and sister were very upset. My sister was even about to kick me. But my father didn't want me to get hurt, so he stood up and protected me. My sister ended up kicking my father...,” recalled Ms. Chen.
“It was so hard for me. But on the other hand, I knew I couldn't give up so easily. That would mean giving in and siding with the evil.”
“The mental and financial suffering that the persecution brought to my family in the past 16 years is immeasurable,” wrote Ms. Chen in her complaint.

Background
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
