Criminal complaint against former CCP leader Jiang Zemin
Excerpts from the Criminal Complaint
Ms. Wang's mother Ms. Ding Xiuping, aunt Ms. Ding Xiuzhen, aunt Ms. Ding Xiuyun, and family friend Ms. Zhang Huimei began to practice Falun Gong in 1998. They benefited physically and mentally.
After Jiang Zemin initiated the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, many practitioners were arrested, including Ms. Wang's four relatives. After their arrests in February 2001, they were either sentenced to forced labor or prison.
Ms. Xiuping and Ms. Xiuzhen were each sentenced to two years, and Ms. Zhang to three years of forced labor. Ms. Xiuyun was sentenced to a seven-year prison term.
All four women were tortured, subjected to brainwashing, and forced todo hard labor. Some of their families were destroyed and suffered financial hardship. The 610 Office harassed and threatened their family members both at work and at school.
Ms. Wang's Personal Account
While my mother was detained in the forced labor camp, my father was transferred to a remote area, bullied at work, harassed by the 610 Office, and forbidden to return home. This left my younger brother and me on our own. When I reached the legal age to join the military, I was rejected because my mother practiced Falun Gong.
The 610 Office ransacked our home. My mother was monitored by inmates around the clock, forced to do hard labor for long hours, and had to sit on a small stool and watch video programs that slandered Falun Gong.
My Aunt Xiuzhen was arrested four times and also had to do hard labor. She was even arrested when her husband was in the hospital, leaving their two young children on their own. Her husband later divorced her because of the tremendous mental pressure.
Her home was ransacked three times, and she was monitored by inmates in the forced labor camp, deprived of sleep, and subjected to brainwashing.
My Aunt Xiuyun was a teacher. When the persecution began, the teachers and students were forced to watch programs that slandered Falun Gong. Aunt Xiuyun wrote two articles in defense of the practice: “Benefiting Much From Studying Falun Gong” and “An Open Letter to Government Officials.” She was fired from her job and arrested.
Local police tortured her during the one-and-a-half years she was in detention. She was then sentenced to seven years in prison. Her family was harassed and threatened during that time.
The family of Ms. Zhang Huimei was harassed and threatened. Her two children were left at home alone, and during detention in the forced labor camp, she was brainwashed.

Background
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong. The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. In this way, Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising their right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
