(Minghui.org) Tianti Books, the specialty bookstore featuring Falun Dafa books and other learning materials, has been selected for the 2015 Best of Manhattan Award in the Book Stores category by the Manhattan Award Program.
Each year, the Manhattan Award Program identifies companies that it believes have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Manhattan area a great place to live, work and play.
Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2015 Manhattan Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Manhattan Award Program and data provided by third parties.
Attending the 9-Day Meditation Workshop
People learning Falun Gong exercises in the bookstore
Ms. Lin, who attended the 9-day Falun Dafa meditation workshop this month, is from Taiwan. She previously worked at Columbia University. Ms. Lin was diagnosed with cancer, had surgery, and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. She attended the workshop earlier, but was unable to finish it. This time, she finished the entire course and made sure she learned all five exercises.
“I must stay alive and cannot die before my mom. She would be very sad,” Ms. Lin said. She called her Buddhist mother in Taiwan. Her mother told her that she was not really ill.
“I did not quite understand it. But I always trust my mother,” said Ms. Lin.
Then, something out of the ordinary happened. One chemotherapy treatment was scheduled during the 9-day workshop. However, the nurse could not take a blood sample, even after several attempts. Thus, the session could not be performed.
At the end of the workshop, Ms. Lin bought a book and said she would continue with the cultivation practice upon returning home. She also would tell her mother about it.
“It Means A Lot to Me”
Takayagi is from Japan. He could not understand English well, but nonetheless he learned a lot from the lectures.
“I always wondered where life originated from,” he said at the end of the workshop. “Now I know that we originated in the universe. It means a lot to me.” He was very grateful for the workshop.

“The exercises make me feel so good”
A woman who had emigrated from China to the United States heard many stories while in China about Falun Dafa practitioners being mistreated for their belief.
“I also heard lots of propaganda that defamed Falun Gong,” she said. “I am glad I live here and can practice Falun Dafa freely—because the exercises make me feel so good.”
