(Minghui.org) Ms. Zhu Fuju, an employee of the Hailin Municipal Bureau of Forestry in Heilongjiang Province, has filed a criminal complaint against former Chinese Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin, for instigating the persecution of Falun Gong and for condoning the torture of Falun Gong practitioners.
Ms. Zhu Fuju struggled to conceive for years, and credits Falun Gong for her revived health and finally becoming pregnant in 2002. She lost her baby that year however, after she was arrested and given forced labor for refusing to give up her belief.
The guards ignored her pregnancy and denied prenatal care. They subjected her to various forms of torture and forced labor, which continued after her abuse-induced miscarriage.
Ms. Zhu was arrested again six months after being released from the three-year forced labor term. She spent the next six years in prison, where she was again tortured and injected with harmful drugs.
At age 49, Ms. Zhu's dream of becoming a mother is now all but dead, thanks to the years of physical and mental abuse she suffered at the hands of CCP agents. She holds Jiang Zemin responsible.
Arrest and Pregnancy
Ms. Zhu was first arrested on July 20, 2002. She began vomiting while being escorted to the detention center, and requested a pregnancy test. Her request was denied.
Ms. Zhu went on a hunger strike in the detention center to protest the abuse, and demanded a pregnancy test. The guards force-fed her through a feeding tube, causing her to lose consciousness. She was sent to the emergency room.
After she gained consciousness in the ER, she began to vomit blood. The head of the detention center lied to the doctors and said that she was not pregnant.
For several days afterwards, the guards struck her, forced her to stand on ice barefoot, and poured several buckets of ice-cold water on her. Her husband tried to visit her, but was turned away.
She was given three years of forced labor shortly afterwards.
Miscarriage in a Labor Camp
The forced labor camp authorities tried to pressure Ms. Zhu into denouncing her faith–they deprived her of sleep by tying her hands to heating pipes in a position where she could neither stand up nor squat down.
This is a torture method called the “big stretch,” where practitioners’ arms are stretched as far apart as possible with their hands cuffed. Practitioners are forced to stay in this painful position, unable to move.
The big stretch injured Ms. Zhu's feet, which became swollen. Pus ran out of her feet for several months. Her mental condition was also worsening – she remembered less and less each day.
Due to her pregnancy, Ms. Zhu had very bad morning sickness, headaches, and chest aches. Her toes were festering, and she also developed gestational diabetes.
A few months later, she noticed a strange-smelling vaginal discharge and asked for a gynecological examination, but her request was denied once again.
Her genital area became irritated, and she suffered from back pain, migraines, and shortness of breath. She requested medical treatment, but the labor camp refused her request.
Eventually, the inmates who shared her cell could no longer stand her bodily odors. It was only then that Ms. Zhu was allowed a gynecological exam.
The doctor told her that she had miscarried, and that at this point, there were still some remains of the fetus in her womb being discharged.
Per Ms. Zhu's strong demands, she was given an ultrasound. The doctor then gave her a shot which caused pain in her joints. Afterwards, the remains of the baby were completely evacuated.
Afterwards, the guards told everyone that Ms. Zhu had suffered from abdominal tuberculosis, and forced her to continue working in the camp sweatshop.
Second Arrest and Sentence
Ms. Zhu was released in early 2005, but six months later, the Hailin City Police Department in Linye District brought her to court. They then held a secret trial and illegally gave her a six-year-sentence. She was locked up in Heilongjiang Women’s Prison from July 2006 to November 2011.
To try to force Ms. Zhu to denounce her faith in Falun Gong, the prison guards tortured her in various ways, including the “big stretch.”
Ms. Zhu was also locked up in tight quarters and given harmful injections. As a result of these torture methods, her arms were almost paralyzed and she could not relieve herself.
Ms. Zhu said that she wanted to write about what she had experienced, and let the world know the atrocities that Jiang’s persecution of ordinary Chinese citizens has brought.
She wants to bring Jiang Zemin, the primary perpetrator of the crimes against Falun Gong practitioners, to justice.
Ms. Zhu was in her forties when she finally became pregnant for the first time. She had trouble conceiving before, so she was overjoyed at the prospect of having a child.
But due to the barbaric brutality of the law enforcement agencies, Ms. Zhu will no longer be able to fulfill that dream.
Background
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
