(Minghui.org) Voice of America (VOA) reported on June 26, 2015, that two House Representatives, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Gerald Connolly, introduced Resolution 343 one day before, condemning the persecution of Falun Gong in China. In particular, this resolution calls for an end to live organ harvesting from Falun Gong prisoners of conscience.
In her statement, Ros-Lehtinen wrote, “All people have the inherent and fundamental human right to practice their spiritual beliefs without fear of harassment, including Falun Gong followers. China should immediately end its systematic campaign of propaganda, imprisonment, and abuse against those who practice Falun Gong, release all prisoners of conscience, and allow an independent investigation into its state-sanctioned organ harvesting.”
Initiated by Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL) and Connolly (D-VA), this resolution was co-sponsored by six other representatives including Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA), Ted Poe (R-TX), Mario Diaz-Balart (R-FL), Julia Brownley (D-CA), Sam Farr (D-CA), and David G. Valadao (R-CA).
