(Minghui.org) “Dr. Geng’s wife was tortured to death in a Forced Labor Camp in China for refusing to renounce her beliefs. And he was detained three times and almost lost his life. Mr. Zhang, a former pilot for China Southern Airlines, suffered eight long years of persecution. Both Geng and Zhang were subjected to cruel torture, including severe beatings, force-feeding, forced labor, as well as brainwashing,” reported the Missouri Falun Dafa Association in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on July 17, 2015.
Both Geng and Zhang are St. Louis residents, a scientist and a pilot. They have filed criminal complaints against former Chinese communist dictator Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme People's Court.
The complaints charge Jiang with abuse of power, unlawful imprisonment, depriving citizens of their constitutional right to freedom of belief, and many more crimes. Jiang initiated the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, and created the notorious 610 Office, giving it the power to override the police and judicial system to carry out his directives.
Over the past 16 years, more than 3,800 Falun Gong practitioners have been confirmed to have died as a direct result of the persecution. The actual death toll is likely higher, because such information is tightly censored in China.
The announcement stated, “These courageous men are joining more than 60,000 Chinese and overseas plaintiffs who have recently filed lawsuits in China’s Supreme Court against Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese regime. This groundswell of legal action directly targeting the former leader has deep implications in China, particularly after Zhou Yongkang, former Head of the CCP Legal Committee who was one of the primary culprits in the persecution of Falun Gong, was sentenced to life in prison. Geng and Zhang will be available for interview during the event.”
The report also mentioned a local event organized by Falun Gong practitioners, “Local residents will also gather at the event to inform the public about China’s persecution of Falun Gong and its practitioners, and support Chinese people’s struggle for freedom under the communist regime. The event will also urge Congress to pass House Resolution 343 (H.Res.343), which condemns China’s heinous practice of organ harvesting from Falun Gong detainees and other prisoners of conscience.”
This report, by the Missouri Falun Dafa Association, was published in the local news section of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
