(Minghui.org) In 2000, I began working at a design institute. The first day I introduced myself to the dean and said, “I am a Falun Gong practitioner.”
He looked surprised but didn't say anything. I added, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are principles I live by."
The dean's face relaxed, and he said, "I especially welcome people who follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. However, please don’t practice Falun Gong in public.”
“I know how to be careful. Don’t worry,” I said.
On my fourth day, I wrote "Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” in the hallway where I worked. The dean walked into my office and nodded at me, showing me he was supportive.
Gradually the young colleagues in my office gained a better understating of Falun Gong. Later the dean brought me two Dafa booklets and said that he found them on his door.
In 2007, I started working at a construction site at the Shanghai Modern Architectural Design Institute. I dealt with many people, mostly bureaucratic officials who were pocketing profits.
When I told them that I was a Falun Gong practitioner, their reactions were all nearly the same. They said, “Don’t talk about this please. Two practitioners from our institute were illegally arrested and sentenced to prison for several years.”
I asked, “Since you worked with them, what is your opinion of practitioners?” They said, “They are very good people.” I said, “Well, if those who believe in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are good people, shouldn't you protect them? If you do, you will be blessed with good fortune.”
One engineering leader at the construction site was a woman with a strong personality. One day, she asked me to check fire safety regulations on my computer. When I turned the computer on, she was surprised to read the story about the “hidden words” that predict the end of the CCP carved in a stone in Guizhou Province.
In 2014, I accepted a position as chief engineer at a power plant. When they met me, the plant chief and Party secretary commented that I looked very young for my age and in good health.
I was pleased to tell them, “I am a Falun Gong practitioner.” They were speechless. I then told them that I had been seriously ill three times, but recovered each time.
“I've heard that Falun Gong is good. Now I believe it,” the Party secretary said.
A young co-worker, Mr. Yang, worked there for about a year after graduating. He was working on an application to join the CCP. He made several attempts, but failed each time.
One day I asked him, “Why do you want to join the Party?”
“I could get a promotion and earn more money if I join the Party,” he said.
“Did you write your intention on the application?” I asked.
“Of course not,” he said. “I wrote, 'I want to serve the people and devote my entire life to communism.' Everything I wrote was nonsense, and I couldn't finish it.”
“You have high expectations of the CCP,” I said. “There are so many corrupt officials. You cannot get promoted if you don’t have money. You should look at the website and see what the Party is really like.”
He finally understood when he read the story about the “hidden words” carved into a stone in Guizhou Province. Several other co-workers who read about this natural phenomenon also understood the facts.
When I walked into the Party secretary’s office, I saw two banners on the wall, “Serve the people, act for the people” and “Devote your entire life to communism.”
“Do you still believe that?” I asked. “Is there anyone in the Party who serves the people? Even children know that isn't true. Why are you still confused? Why do you lie to yourself?”
The next time I visited his office, the banners were gone.
When I went to a county police department, the officers commented that I looked young. I told them that I was a Falun Gong practitioner. They didn't say a thing.
No matter where I go, I tell people that I am Falun Gong practitioner.
