(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners participated in the California State Fair, which was held on July 10-26, 2015. A Falun Gong information booth was set up in the free speech area at the entrance each weekend.
This annual event integrates business, culture, and recreation, and drew nearly one million visitors this year.
Local practitioners have participated in the event every year since 1999, both to let people know about Falun Gong, and to inform them of the brutal persecution of the practice being carried out in China by the Communist Party (CCP).
A practitioner tells visitors about Falun Gong at an information booth set up in the free speech area at the entrance to the California State Fair.
A large “Falun Dafa, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” banner covered the back wall of the booth. Photos, brochures, and practitioners in yellow T-shirts caught people's attention and brought smiles and greetings.
A young Chinese woman pushing a stroller came and got informational materials. There were many students from China and Taiwan, as it was summer break for schools. Many of the students wanted to learn about Falun Gong, and took informational materials.
A Chinese boy about 11 or 12 years old wanted to get some brochures. His American guardian asked him, “Are you sure you want to take the information? Do you what that is?” “I know this is Falun Gong, but I don't know much about it. I want to learn more,” answered the boy.
A practitioner asked the boy, “Do you want to read the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party?” “Yes,” answered the boy. The two older boys with him also took flyers.
A lady passing by asked what Falun Gong was. Her companion explained to her that it was peaceful practice that was being brutally persecuted by the CCP in China.
Two girls in a neighboring booth listened to a practitioner explain Falun Gong and the persecution. A man of the same booth accepted a paper lotus flower with a “Falun Dafa is great!” bookmark and hung it in their booth.
