(Minghui.org) 4,857 citizens in Hualian County, Taiwan, signed a petition during a collection drive on July 1-August 2, 2015, supporting the recent flood of lawsuits against the former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin, for launching and directing the persecution of Falun Gong. The flood of lawsuits started in May. There have since been more than 120,000 Falun Gong practitioners who have filed criminal complaints.
According to Chinese law, a criminal report form signed and dated by any individual with knowledge of a crime constitutes a criminal complaint that can be submitted to the People's Supreme Procuratorate and Court. Many people who do not practice Falun Gong, but know about the persecution, have filed the report forms to express their support of the lawsuits.
A global signature collection drive supporting the lawsuits was formally initiated in early July. Nearly 140,000 people in Asia, including approximately 100,000 Taiwanese, have since signed the petition, and many have filed criminal report forms. The number is steadily increasing.
