(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners in Los Angeles held a rally at Santa Monica Pier on September 12, to draw attention to the recent flood of lawsuits against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin and to gather public support for bringing Jiang to justice.
As of September 9, 175,000 Falun Gong practitioners in China and overseas have filed criminal complains against Jiang for persecuting Falun Gong in China, and the number is rising. In Los Angeles, 300 practitioners have joined the wave and filed lawsuits against Jiang for abuse of power.
Many L.A. residents and tourists signed the petition in support of Falun Gong's peaceful resistance.

Barry Simon, Vice Chairman of the United Nations Association of Southern California, compared Falun Gong's lawsuits against Jiang with the Jewish lawsuits against Hitler.

He called upon the public to pay attention to U.S. House Resolution 343, which requests the Chinese government to stop its state-sanctioned organ harvesting of Falun Gong practitioners and other prisoners of conscience.
Dr. Dana Churchill, representative from Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH), commended Falun Gong practitioners' courage, as the lawsuits let the whole world know about the brutality of the persecution.
Yangchen Dolkar Gakyil, Chair of the Tibetan Association in Southern California, supports Falun Gong. She said that just like Falun Gong, “Tibetan people are also the victim of the communist party's persecution. They do not have even basic human rights.”
Liu Yaya, Chair of the Visual Artists Guild in L.A., calls upon the international community to pay attention to the persecution in China, and to place morality over business.
